Comptech S/C for Accord/CL/CL-S/TL/TL-S

Hey whats up everyone, I haven't been on here in a while but I got an email from comptech. It said that they are in the middle of developing a supercharger for the Accord TL and CL including the Type S. It is due out early 2002.*

*Disclaimer I am in no way shape or form affiliated with Comptech USA or Honda of America. I am however passing on valuable information that I am sure many of you would find helpful in finding ways to beat out the competition. Thank you

The Supercharger kit for the 1999-2002 V6 Accord, 2001-2002 CL &
CL-S, & 1999-2002 TL & TL-S is well under development. We look to have a
finalized version of the kit available sometime early in 2002.
Preliminary horsepower, technical & pricing information will not be released
until the kit is finalized and available to the public in 2002.

This was in the newsletter from Comptech.

After reading about the S/C I am leaning towards the TL-S.

Now All I need to do is save up a few grand for a downpayment. So hopefully by Dec or Jan I will be cruising around in mine.

You have to budget some $5K-$6K for the S/C and the Transmission upgrdae. You gain some 75HP and you would be doing the 1/4 mile in hi 13s @ 105 MPH.

$5,000 dollars just to get 12 more MPH save 1 sec! Economics at it's best!

The pricing and all of that information has not been released yet. Also they are testing out the S/C on an Accord and so far no problems with the tranny. Its on Comptechs forum. I don't think that the S/C will be 5K probably about 4K. Just my .02

Also without NOS how else are you going to get into the 13's. Unless you are an awesome driver with CAI and Headers and no back seat. J/K But I am not sure what peoples times are with headers.

You would be amazed to find with every perfornance bolt-on mod till date, the CLS/TL-S is running anywehere from 14.4s to 15.6s @ 88 to 98 MPH.

I do average 15 sec with just a CAI and fat rims and tires.

I wonder how many miles the car should have on it before you do the S/C. Hopefully if and when I get mine I will already have headers, wheels, sways, and axle back. Then with the S/C get the ice box intake in development as well.

Hey do you need luxury? If no I suggest you save a few bucks and get the RSX type S. My little brother is about to sell the GTP and get the RSX type S. I got to drive it at the dealer and that thing is fun for the price. Go to RSXzone.com and get some aftermarket info there.

I test drove the RSX Type S as well but it wasn't quick enough for me. But I really like the 6 speed. I wished the TL had it

Damn, by spring of next year I'll have 40-50,000 miles on my TL-S. Would it be worth it to add a SC at that point?

Maybe I should just wait for the 6sp and get another TLS then just add the Comptech SC, headers, exhaust, springs, sways, Brembos all around, and new wheels and I'll be set. Let's see roughly 30000 for the TLS plus 5000 for SC + 2500 for headers/exhaust + 1000 for springs/sways + 5000 for Brembos + 3000 for wheels/tires = $46500 for a new TLS "Special Edition". Hmmm, an awfully tempting way to blow a lot of money.
