Comptech Icebox for type-s?

is it out yet? it seems like on top of this site that they are available for the type-s, but if i go to the comptech site, they only have one for the non-typeS...
do u guys know if this will sound and have the same gains as the cold air intakes?
i recall reading that u do not have to worry about hydrolocking with iceboxes..
so whats the dealio?

I am 'this' close to ordering one. I don't know if I should wait until spring/summer time though. I want to be able to dyno the car pre & post.

Bypass valve?? I doubt it will come with one coz the icebox doesn't need a bypass valve.

It won't suck up water coz the air tube doesn't go low enough to touch water unless you drive into a pond.

not really I guess

I prefer the comptech over the aem because of hydro lock and easy access to filter.

One of the biggest differences is that with the Icebox the filter sits in the engine bay vs. the CAI where the filter sits behind your fog light close to the ground.

The Icebox is almost a Ram-Air type of setup and from reports and claims, the Icebox is less prone to hydrolock (sucking up water). That remains to be seen, but in theory. It makes sense.

Oh, FYI... I talked to Dean... his Group Buy ended yesterday, so the one at acl.com is the only active one.

I like the icebox myself.... I don't think the exposed cone sound is worth it unless you have a turbo.

not really I guess
