Question Comptech Headers or CAI / Which is Louder?

How much louder is the TL with the addition of Headers. I already have Comptech Mufflers. Somehow I need more POWER without alot of noise, would I be better off going to an Intake System? Thanks for input.

Headers won't be noticibly louder at all and are more performance than the intake (although if I had to do it over, I wouldn't buy the headers again- I'm not impressed). The intake is more fun though but can be loud after 4500 RPMs.

intake is louder, but not that loud. it only gets loud at like 5500 or so when youre really laying down the foot. otherwise, its souds louder, but not that loud. if you got the radio on pretty high, you can't hear it at all, only in the high rpm's. i wish it was louder . . .

The intake is much louder than the headers. My intake starts to scream at 3500rpm. I love the headers...especially at freeway speed. They are awesome.

My intake screams at EXACTLY 4500rpm. (And I LIKE my headers at freeway speed.)

I'm planning to get a CAI...and i never thought that the intake will produce that much sound. WHen you guys say "Loud", how loud do you mean? Loud relative to what? Is it an annoying sound? or kinda like a sporty should like the BMW produces?

I just got the AEM CAI installed today and it is great. The sound is loud after 3500 rpm but it's that deep growl sound (I love the sound). I don't know if it's in my head but my TL seems faster than before. My only regret was not getting it sooner.

Maybe I should have mine checked out cause it was my first install, but mine doesn't sound as everyone is making it out to be. or maybe i just have bad hearing or was expecting it to be louder. but, i can say that it will only get loud when you want it to get loud, which is very nice for casual driving

Thumbs up

The only thing you can really hear when casually driving is the sucking sound. But watch out when you nail it, that thing just growls. I love the sound when entering a freeway or just downshifting and blowing by someone.

First gear breathes so much better now. It always felt like the engne was suffocating in first, but it is so much more responsive now.
