Thumbs up Comptech header installed!

Got the header installed on May 3 at Rick Case Acura. I dropped the car off at around 10:30am at which point Doug, the service manager, gave me the keys to a 2000 TL loaner car. I came back at around 3:30pm and my car was waiting for me -- freshly washed and dried and with the stock exhaust manifold neatly packaged in the Comptech box in my trunk. I highly recommend them for anyone in the area that needs any type of service or installation done. They took very good care of me.

With that said -- the header is amazing! The difference when VTEC engages is not to be believed. I don't feel much of a change in normal driving, but when you put your foot into it the car really opens up. It pulls you into the seat like never before -- the difference is quite pronounced. The only downside is that I've gone through about 20 gallons of gas since then just driving around and experiencing that pull again and again... it's intoxicating! To anyone who is on the fence about getting them -- DO IT! My only regrets are that gas isn't cheaper and that there doesn't seem to be enough time in the day for driving!

I've put up two initial pics at http://ron.b16a.com/header/ with more to come shortly.

Does the Headers offer only 18hp or does it have larger gains such as 32 for the type s?

wait hold on i think i remembered someone saying not to get the comptech headers, because if the superchargers come out for a tl, then we need to get diffrent set of headers

You don't need to replace the Comptech headers if you install a supercharger. The supercharger only affects the intake side of the engine. Now if you wanted to turbocharge, then the CT headers will have to go because you'll have to route exhaust gases into the turbine housing.

Hey RAdams!

Your pictures are GREAT! Looks like you have a Mavica! Very nice close-ups.

I can definately see a set of these in my future, after the audio get an "upgrade"!

V-E-R-T Nice! Go easy on the gas!

Question

Do the comptech headers give 18hp on the dyno(drive wheels) or at the flywheel?

Not only is it an NSX... it's right-hand drive and has a Comptech supercharger. I think it was running a 10psi pulley.. but I do remember it made 404whp (I was videotaping it). A few pics:

Did you happen to notice the tiny glint of the intercooler mounted in the front of the Integra as well?

radams,
you can wrap them up in exhaust headers wrap(thermotec), it gives more power.
its a high temperature exhaust wrap and makes the header hotter, making more exhaust escape quicker. try this website: http://www.thermotec.com/tt/products.html
