Comptech Exhaust Issues....

Now that I raised the exhaust up closer to the bumper, it looks soooooooo much better...the only problem I'm noticing now more than before is that the left exhaust tip is sticking out of the bumper while the right side is flush with the bumper...anyone else notice this and came up with a fix? BTW, I used rubber hose clamps to raise the exhaust..

Exclamation

Be careful with making the exhausts too flush with the bumper. The heat off the exhaust will melt or burn the bumper. BTW I haven't seen anyone with same problems that you're experiencing with the comptech exhausts. It's never going to be perfectly balanced as the left side of the Y-pipe is longer than the right.

I am having that same problem. For what ever reason, since I got the exhaust, the left side has come out further than the right side. It also sags more on the left but my stock mufflers did that as well.

That's why I am not sure if I wanna get the exhaust...

you pay for the sound and look. Now you got the sound, but the look?!?!?!

Don't get me wrong, The exhaust is more than satisfactory in looks and sound..You can't expect it to fit perfectly, as even the factory exhaust was almost the same thing..The left side hangs a little lower on stock then the right side, but i'm not sure about sticking out more or not... That's something that's not as noticable when it's hanging low..you notice it a lot more when it's closer to the bumper...observe: On factory rubber hangers hanging low....

On factory hangers but raised with the radiator hose clamps... its now in the bumper cutout, but about an inch away from the bumper:

Leave it off! It looks much cleaner. Needless to say but my car is "clean" also. Cars without emblems look cleaner and is also much easier TO CLEAN!

What needs to happen to correct this is a little bit of"convincing" with the right tools.I have managed to get most of these systems straight by "adjusting" either the "b" pipe or the body mounts for the exhaust.Jens
