Question Comptech Exhaust Installation

Does anyone know if the Comptech exhaust is totally bolt on or is there some welding required? I've read some posts that the exhaust is a lot louder than stock, but I'm curious about the type of sound. I've heard some Civics on the road with some type of exhaust but I was not impressed. Maybe because I knew it was a 4 cylinder. I really like the sound of the Stock Mustang GT. Is the sound mostly because of the V8 or is it the exhaust. Certain GM cars like the older Lumina Z-34 (I think that's the car) also have that throaty rumble sound.

ROCK,

The CompTech exhaust is a bolt on axle-back system. From what I've been hearing it shouldn't take more then a 1/2 hour to install. As for the sound, the reviews I've been reading it's more of a throaty rumble of a V8 (one person compared it to a Lincoln LS). That's the sound I'm looking for, so I bought them. They arrived yesterday and they're going on Saturday!!

The mustang rumble is the V-8, just sold mine. I listened to 99WDP's at a meet a couple of weeks ago, and it sounded pretty good. A little more of a bass rumble than stock, you can tell when you put your foot into it. My major concern was the increase in cabin noise, it really wasn't as bad as I was expecting from some of the reviews I have read. At lower RPM's there was a very slight exhaust noise, some have termed 'Drone', but it wasn't annoying, and you can hear it inside when you put your foot in it, (we did a rev limiter check....no not in 5th gear ).

I will be hooking up with another guy here locally that has a 2002 with Comptech axle back exhaust, I'll see if my opinion changes after that.
