Angry Comptech causes alignment probs!!!

After having my Comptech springs on for ~2 weeks, I decided it was time to take it to my dealer for an aligment.

When I went to pick it up, the service guy gave me some bad news: they were unable to completely align the right rear wheel. As it turns out, the wheel was .1% beyond camber specs (I think it was 1.1%, while specs say 1% max)

Although this is a miniscule mis-alignment, and will not cause uneven tire wear or drive pull, it still bugs me. Now I'm so freaking glad I didnt get the H&Rs because the more significant drop in the rear would definitely require a camber kit.

Anyone else have this prob?

I've had my Comptech's in for 3 months now and I have no problems at all. The car drives perfectly straight. The treadwear looks even.

.1% is pretty miniscule, and I wouldnt call it an "alignment problem." As you said there will be no pull or uneven treadwear, so what exactly is the problem?

A side effect of lowering is you get an increased negative camber. How much depends on the drop, and the car. Some people get more affected than others requiring camber kits or experiencing uneven tire wear. In our cases most get away with alignments so close to spec that we wont notice the difference really. If you didnt know this before you lowered your car you were misinformed.

I agree, this subject title is mis leading. .1% is not a problem

Been selling Comptech springs to TL owners for 2 years, without anyone every having a problem. Alignment shops are always able to get them with in factory specs

I guess its not that big of a deal, but again, I'm just glad I went with the Comptechs now.

btw, I love the springs, and I'd do it all over again if I had to. Look and handling is so much better. Next up: Mys. Mod.
