Okay, I got my car back few hours ago from the shop.
As soon as I received my car keys, I checked mufflers only to find out that passenger side muffler is haning way lower than driver side one.

Then I drove back home.. Sound was great. It felt a little loud but I will get used to it. At low RPM, (around 1000 - 2000) it has alot of low frequency note coming out of the exhaust, it felt sort of uncomfortable in the cabin.. but as I said, I will get used to it because it is a cool sound right there

Anyway, Guys, Im just wondering if there is any way to fix this problem (one muffler haning lower). If anyone had this problem already.. or if this common problem that is well known..
The entire passenger muffler seems to be sitting lower than that of driver side.

Okay, these are the rubbers that hold two ends of the muffler..
It looks just fine (it looks same as the ones on the driver side)

I had this problem with my apexi's...............can you repost the pics,all I see are red X..
Muffler shop should be able to heat the hanger and reset the muffler.

 

 

I read it somewhere on this site don't remember where that you can purchase new and shorter hangers. It should fix the problem...

 

Had the same problem with my HKS setup, I just took a jack (put a rag on top of the jack) and then jacked my exhaust up until it was were I wanted it. I then used zip ties to keep it in place, you can do this (you need lots of zipties) or you can go to autozone or whatever you prefer and pick up some hangers or wire and use that.

 

About heating it up and fixing it in a right place.. Is there anyone who could do it for me near toronto area? I remember someone in this board had a shop in scarborough..

 

I guess stock set up is that passenger side hangers are little shorter than driver side?

 

Buy a shorter hanger from local auto store and use it to "pull" up the muffler on the passenger side.

 

You can use a 2.5" hose clamp. Just wrap around the rubber hanger and adjust to desired level. I had the same problem with stock mufflers.

I had the same problem with my Comptech exhaust. Loosen the joint in the middle pipe that is held together with a clamp. Grab the mufflers and twist them untill they are both even and have somebody tighten the joint. You do not need shorter hangers or any bending. My muffler went from being way low to perfect in 5 minutes with no parts.

 

it's a common problem for comptech exhaust

my exhaust hangs one side a little bit lower, it's just because of the hangers

u can fix them by getting different size hangers, but i doubt this is kinda noticeable

 

and u paid 160 for the install?

I'd say total came upto 1360 CAD Shipped and Installed.. It looks like Ive got a bad deal.. But whatever man Its an awsome exhaust.

Okay, Guys, another problem here...

Damn, I should never have trusted these Acura of North Toronto idiots.. Well, I was trying to follow 1osunut's advice, and sort of touched the clamp before the pre mufflers.
And guess what? It was damn loose! I was able to loosen it with my fingers. So the b pipe and y pipe werent completely tightened causing a leak.
So the car was damn loud in the cabin.
I thought the noise level of my exhaust was perfectly normal (kind of loud in the cabin in 1000-2500 rpm range)..

I loosened it little bit more and tried to twist it but the damn thing wouldnt move at all.. I tried 10 to 15 minutes before i gave up and tightened it back.
After I tighten it, it got so much quiter inside the cabin, I dont know how I drove
my car around with that much of noise before.

However, the problem is that I found out that B-Pipe is sitting way higher than C-pipe now . I tried to adjust it but I was kind of scared that I'll make it worse.

As you can see, the pipes dont align perfectly and the clamp is tilted..
What should I do?

p.s. It was not like I trusted Acura of North Toronto fully before, but after this incedent, I think I'll keep myself from using their services to routine oil changes and stuff.. I'm so mad at them.

I am extremely sorry to hear about all the problems you are having.

I have the Comptech axle-backs and I love them. They suit the "personality" of the TL extremely well. Some people think they are too quiet but I personally would not be able to handle anything louder in a car like the TL. The quality of the exhaust is up there as well. You made a great choice going with the CT's.

My left exhaust hangs lower as well. But I don't really mind it. I just ignore it. It's not that big of a problem in my eye.

Here's a bit of advice. Find a performance shop in your area that does quality work, has great facilities, and excellent customer service and stick with them for all your mods. Build a relationship with them. You can bet that it will pay off. They will take care of you and you will always have someone you can trust. Don't go to random shops. Do a bit of research and take your time doing it. You should post a question in the Canadian Forum over at www.supraforums.com . Some of the guys there can definitely point you towards a good shop.

Finally here is a very good news! :wink:
Samkws introduced me to N1Auto in Scarborough, ON, Canada.

So I dropped by the shop today.
They were really kind and very helpful. (they even let me stand around and whatch what they do to my car!) These guys are awsome. All they did was
took a look at my car and loosen up the bolts on both mufflers, and the clamp.
then Andy (I think he is an owner of the shop?) held the mufflers together so it is aligned perfectly, and another guy tightened the mufflers and clamp.
And BOY! it made a world of difference!!

i heard that tonite u came and fixed the exhaust, good for you

you should have came earlier so all u paid was that 30 dollars, not 160 dollars for a crappy install

every single mod on my car was done by N1

 

I know.. Good lesson learned.
At least I have a reliable place to do my future mods!
I'm planning to go header, S/C, springs, Shock, etc.

You do know that cat-back system is damn loud in the cabin right?
I mean, it's got such loud low frequency sound in between 1000 to 2500 RPM which is how we all drive normally (Hopefully). But the the sound fades out after 2500 RPM and gives real sweet lovely tone.

i love the exhaust tone in my car, however i sat at the back once and let my sister drive...it's kinda loud at the rear...a lot louder than u hear at the front

if it's a long trip on hwy then the rear passengers might get annoyed
