Cold Air v. Short Ram
Cold Air v. Short Ram
I have a TL-S and I am looking at doing a low cost upgrade. I am going to get a new intake, but which is better cold air or short ram. I also heard that cold air voids warranties due to its tendency to pick up water, is this true? Will I notice a difference with the new intake? On another note do they make an upgrade ECU for the TL-S and what bulbs are the best looking replacements for the fog lights. Thanks in advance

I have a aem cai on my car with a bypass valve , and the dealer said it would not void warranty..
the aem cai is nice and provides a deep throaty growl in the "vtec" range, with a noticeable power increase, this is definintly a good upgrade and I am glad I have it on my car.

Cold air rules. I have the AEM and would recommend it. BTW, the owner of the shop I got the cai from talked me out of the bypass valve. I was happy to save the $50 bucks and not risk losing the valuable horsepower. He said I was very unlikely to have a problem if I used common sense, and to hurt my car I'd have to drive thru like 16" of water. I agree w/ him, even though we're in Oregon, one of the wettest areas in the U.S.( just tied our record of 34 days straight of rain).
I won't be running through any puddles though.
BTW I am in no way recommending you not use the bypass. This is just what I heard from a very knowledgable source, and what I have chosen to do. Merry Christmas all, It's 12:33.
