Cold Air Intake

I have a 99 Acura TL basically stock and one of my friends said a cold air intake might boost my hp. He said he could build one but when he checked my engine compartment we discovered it was rather tight and would be difficult to properly run pipping out of the compartment for cold air. Would it really affect my cars performance at all to put a cold air intake in the car? Has anyone done it who could give me any suggestions or pictures of how it's best done?

hi!

a cold air intake will give you about 5hp. it will make the engine breathe easier and it will produce a nice sound.

there are many intake systems available out there. first, there's the AEM cold air intake, then there's the AEM V2 intake (better version of the regular intake), then there's the Comptech Ice Box (the best of all, looks pretty much like stock tho) and there's the Injen cold air intake. you cannot really go wrong with any of them.. it comes down to which one you like better and how much you are ready to pay for a cold air intake.

also, a cold air intake will get you more MPG.

check out the 4th page of my GALLERY, there are a few pics of my intake.. it will give you an idea of how it's done and all..

hope this helps!
