Question Cold Air Intake.

Guys, I instaled cold air intake and the car makes nesty noise, which sounds like I have a performance muffler in the front. Does anyone knows how to get that away?

Andrew.

Yeah, take it off and put your old stuff back in. Just kidding

I don't think there's a fix for that. The CAI will growl like a mofo after certain RPM's. Something you'll have to live with but then your performance is better now, right?

The performance is much better and I love it. Feels like car started breething after being chocked. I could not test much yet but on the regular road car kicks ass. I have a new name for my car: Hoover TL.

The CAI was the first thing I installed and I noticed the power gain after 4000RPM, maybe it was the growl that made it seem like more power. I added Headers/Exhaust/VAFC all at once after that and didn't notice a power gain, but I know I did cuz I was able to take a CLS. I think noise contributes a lot to misleading how much power was actually gained.

I think so too. And actualy after 4000 RPM you hear the VTEC kicking in. That is where most of the noise comming from. I am waiting to race with a stock TL and see if there is any difference. Thanks for the reply.

You should be able to beat it, but not by much. You'll pull slightly after 4000RPM. When I had all that crap on my car, I didn't pull till after 4000RPM, but I was pulling very noticeably, but then I had Heanders, Intake, Exhaust, VAFC.

You are right, but I just want to see the difference, as long as I cannot feel it much.
