Coding of FOB's
Hi Folks,
Anyone have a copy of the procedure for getting a new FOB [Remote Car Opener] to work with an 02/03 3.2 TL-S? Picked up a set to replace my current one which is worn out .
Thx
Charlie

Turn key on to 2 hit lock or unlock.
Turn key off
Repete three or so time till locks cycle, then it's programmed.
If you have other fobs, switch fobs while locks are cycling and hit the lock or unlock button then both will work, if not only one will work.

Between each step, wait about a couple of seconds. Also note that it doesn't matter in any of the steps if you use lock or unlock. Just hit one of them.
o turn the ignition switch on. (Note: This is the III position, and you do not have to start your car)
o push the remote lock button with remote aimed at the rec. in the passenger multiplex unit. (This is by the glove box).
o turn the ignition switch off.
• turn the ignition switch on.
• push the remote unlock button while aimed at the rec. You should hear the locks click.
• push the remote lock button.
• within 10 sec. aim the remotes (up to threee) that you want to set at the rec. and press the lock or unlock buttons. When you do this each remote should be locking/unlocking the doors.
• Turn off the ignition and remove the keys.

I have a 2 extra key fob's from my wife's 2000 Accord, I thought I'd try to program one of them as a extra back up for my 2000 TL-P and it didn't work.
Is it possible that because it's a remote for an Accord that it won't be compatible with the Acura alarm system. Both fobs are identical in appearance and if one didn't say Acura/Honda you won't be able to tell them apart.
I've read on this board that there's a certain FCC # that has to be the same for them to work. I'm wondering who knows for sure which fob's and what FCC # will work with my 2000 TL-P as I don't want to have to buy a new fob from Acura plus pay for the programming...
