I think I'm having problems seeing (envisioning) the pic, but I don't really like it. Maharaja's far away pic from the other post looks good, but the closeup looks kinda awkward. If it was between having the yellow reflector or the silver tint, I would choose the yellow. And another thing, do you all think it would look the same if the car wasn't silver. I can't imagine it matching on a WDP, like mine.

Hey andres.....it looks exactly like if you are taking the reflector out..so i guess you opt to leave the reflector in.

So correct me if im wrong, but that is just reflective tint right? Also, is it easy to do the install yourself because won't there be wrinkles since the surface is curved and not flat?

Its harder to tint curved surfaces. Surfaces like your rear window that are curved two ways require a heat gun to shrink the tint to get rid of the "fingers"... aka, the wrinkles that will be there because it is flat tint trying to curve 2 directions. But it should be easy to tint your reflector.

Wassup n the tint Shyne!?

You should spray some soapy water on the headlight and put the tint on without taking off the backing (so it isn't sticky yet). Cut it out. Then remove the backing, spray soapy water on the sticky side of the tint and the headlight again, lay it on there where you want. Hold it down and use a rubber squeege type thing to smooth it down, getting most of the water out from behind it and all the wrinkles out.

Maybe it's just me guys...but doesn't putting that chrome paper over the corners of the lights look EXTREMELY fake up close? I mean I dunno...but it sure does to me...looks like you got aluminum foil and stuck it on there. Maybe I'm just looking at it wrong and I'm sure it looks good far away...but that side view up close pic has me wondering...

I agree, that's why if you actually clear the corners like I did, no one can say you slapped on stickers!

It really is a simple mod. I did these to my lights like 4 months ago. I cut them to the exact shape of the reflector and applied them myself. Damn Biters!!!

I'm glad you see what I mean patrick...means I'm not crazy. I mean...admittedly I will be the first to give you guys credit...it's less permanent than the reflector removal...although I will say you can put the reflector back in and it isn't that hard. It just, again, looks so obviously fake...I don't mean it's peeling or anything...just that it's like "duh, you put a reflective piece of tint on that..." because the light casing is clear. Look at the picture below...

Austin, you obviously have never seen a TL with cleared ligts in person.

For one, it looks like you removed the reflector. It doesn't look nice, there is an empty chrome place there that is missing a reflector. Looks very tacky to me.

Also, pop your hood for shows... what do you see? That this person has taken apart their headlights and put them back together with silicone. You can't do it and have it not be obvious.

Yea, I agreee a 100% with Natedogg!!! You cant take apart your headlights, and not fu@k something up... Its impossible, you can always tell that its not how it came from the factory... Whether it be that your headlights fog up, the beam doesnt shine like it used to, or you ended up breaking something or chipping something in the process... The sticker mod is way better, and if you have a roll of the $hit, you can replace it when it starts to fade or whatever...Just my $.02...Shyne

you should get a lot extra because the chrome will fade eventually. i bought a roll for like $5 at autozone. its called chrome adhesive paper. you may also want to try at arts and craft stores. they may have some

Nate:
"Also, pop your hood for shows... what do you see? That this person has taken apart their headlights and put them back together with silicone. You can't do it and have it not be obvious."

Still man...there's no way it can be as obvious or tacky as that tape...no way in he11. Look at it this way...you can tell with the tape from looking at the lights, but you have to look into them to see the whole reflector missing thing. As for popping the hood...the fact that you have to pop the hood to see that it's fake is already better than the tape. Also, I don't know but you can't see the headlights of my '02 just by popping the hood...you have to pop the hood and remove some parts. Last but not least, if you do a good sanding job (wet sand with 300 grit emory or higher), use a small silicone bead, and then do a good job wiping the excess off I really doubt you can tell...
The tape is just tacky...you'd do better putting it on the yellow reflector in the headlights so they're silver (assuming light shines through the tape as was said in the post)...

"The tape is just tacky...you'd do better putting it on the yellow reflector in the headlights so they're silver "

Yeah... both are tacky... as is just leaving the orange reflector (though probably the least tacky - the reason I haven't done jack with it). But I thought we were talking about putting it on the yellow reflector in the headlights... unless you mean on the yellow reflector IN the headlights, but then you might as well just clear them.

Bottom lines:

Clearing your lights is a *****, easy to fawk up, easy to make it look like shat!

Tape is ghetto but you can't mess up and its reversible at any time!

Orange reflectors suck donkey balls!

So we need to group buy a silver reflector huh Nate?

And yeah I was meaning put the tape actually on the yellow reflector...that'd solve the "ghetto tape stuck to the outside" problem, as well as the "there's a hole where the yellow reflector was" problem...it'd be a compromise to clearing them vs taping the outside...

DUDE, u copied me and tommies ideas, and we did it like 9 months ago, checck the gallery section from last dec or even nov, we put the silver graffic **** on our yellow or orange parts of out lites, i actually had it all over my lights even coverin the chrome,it looked awesome from the far, but it was tough as hell to stretch that **** around the curves of my cl-s lites. so, sorry, it wasnt your idea, tommy and i though of it, but if u get it to work, cool for u.
