Clear Bra?
Okay, so I picked up a bra for my new TL-S, wanting to avoid any dings in the front. I've had a bra before and always liked the way it looked, so I defended my position when people tried to warn me about the damage it could do.
So, I put it on yesterday - and I hate the way it looks!!! I don't know - it just doesn't do the car justice!
I've read some postings about the 3M Clear Bra, but couldn't find the post that covered it. Could somebody give me a quick recap of what this product is, how much it costs, how long it lasts, etc..
I'm also curious how this compliments/contradicts/replaces the paintseal package the dealer is applying this weekend. I got that for a steal mainly for the leather protectant for the interior and the idea of no more waxing the interior. (I love this car, but I'm just not the type to wash and wax all the time).
Anyway, long posting, but I'd appreciate your insight. Thanks!

Okay, I don't understand what coosamtn meant, but thanks Mr. Hyde. I tried searching first (sensitive to the repetitive post thing), but I kept searching for "3M" and "bra" - all of which didn't meet the minimum requirements.
So you got one? How do you like it? How much did it cost? Or is that information in one of the other threads?
Regardless, thanks!

Hey Lrpba300, thanks for the input. It looks great, except for it seems fairly noticeable in the "Above Hood View"?? Is that really the bra, or is it some lighting?
P.S. - I like the tint. I just got home tonight from having a 35% done all the way around - it looks awesome so far! Can't wait 'til it totally is merged in in a day or so.

TheBeaud, search for "X-pel" and limit your search to this forum and TL discussion, there are a ton of posts, some with pics. I bought the entire kit, but its not installed yet. Installer is booked up for a few weeks. Cross your fingers, no chips for the next three weeks.

I have had a very good experience with the Stonegard product. After I had my Porsche repainted due to stone chips/ bottoming out (lowered for track use), I installed the Stonegard and it works great! It won't help the bottoming out much, but no chips have happend. It is on the front nose as well as my side mirrors. They also make it for the headlights on most cars. The bra is basically around 6 mil thick clear vinyl. Virtually invisible from 3 feet or more. Better than nothing, better looking than any leather bra.

Eithe rI am lucky or you guys are unlucky. You guys have actually had CHIPS on the hoods of your cars? I dont think I've ever got a chip on the hood of my car. Unless you drive 10 feet behind a loader truck for a while you should be fine, shouldn't you?

I wouldn't agree with that at all - any car can kick up a rock or small pebble. I got a nick on my windshield the 3rd day of ownership, just driving on the freeway for 10 minutes. Since then I've gotten 2 small nicks the size of a pen point on the front of the hood, right where the bra should have been!!
Congrat's on being lucky!
