+ = 2 x TLS = 2 x
Whats the point? Its wrecked and probably has a salvage title, meaning even iif he fixed it, it would still be worth nothing as it has no warrenty.

He hasn't mentioned what he paid for it. If he bought it for (~5K) and fixed the rear end himself (~2K) = 7K. I'm SURE someone out there will be willing to buy a 03 CL Type S for 11 -12K WITH salvage title. I know plenty of dealers who sell Salvage vehicles. Just because you have a Salvage title doesn't mean it's worth nothing. I've owned mutiple cars with out warranty. Who cares if you don't have a warranty?? Especially when it's hit in the rear.

Oh yeah... that's my point.

If it were that cheap to fix, don't you think insurance would have fixed the car

Fixing it yourself is MUCH cheaper.... THOUSANDS cheaper... You could use used/aftermarket parts, install it yourself OR take it to a place where you know does good work for cheap price.... Some owners force insurance companies to pay off the car because they don't want to keep it anymore due to depreciation issues.

He was making a point to the reason why it hasn't been done. The conversion that is.... That was BrakeJob talking... If you want to start pointing out posts to prove something, you probably should use this one as he's the originator of the thread and he has ALL of the parts.

Trust me, doing collision work is much easier then doing the Auto to "6 Speed Manual" conversion.

depends on what the damage is. most here dont have the tools and the facility to do that much body work. its not as simple ass cuting something off and welding a back of a car on! Trust me ive done it B4.
the swap would be ALOT easier, PLUS he may not want a 2 door, i know i dont and would rather have a 6speed manual 4 door!

If you do end up doing this be sure to keep complete detailed records of what you do (including video). If you're the first to pull this off, the "instructions" could be worth something to others with the same aspirations!!

hey guys its not a thing of me needing another car to fix its that i wanted to try to make the tl unique. I was just trying to gather input from you guys cause i didnt put much thought into it and i didnt want to pull my tl apart to find out its not doable. The cl is trashed completely in the back it was hit real hard by an suv. i wasnt paying anything for the car because my uncle owns the salvage yard. I havent decided that im not gonna attempt it yet, but if i decide not to go ahead with the project maybe ill try to work something out and give one of you guys the parts. well see what happens.

does anyone know of a website where i could find a breakdown of the tl and cl? maybe it would help if i could set up a wiring diagram on paper first. And if anyone could find out if the frames are the same for the tl and cl where they meet the firewall that'd help too.

Buy a helms manual for a CL and one for a TL.

They will be nessecities if you go through with this. Plus they will answer your questions.

be confident and be the first to do it. i think if u know your way around a car u could do it. like many others have said all it is is time and money.

theres no feeling like a MT tranny!

well if you have the whole car you will need a few months to just switch every thing over. if it ran in the cl fine and you switch the cl and tl stuff it should run fine too. just don't expect too much help from here no ones bothered to do it here. good luck
