CL-P Vs. Prelude?

CL-P Vs. Prelude?
One of my friend has a 2000 Prelude 5spd with Cold Air, and I have a CL-P which is same with the TL, and I have CAI, and Pulleys..... He wanted to race and try to see how fast our cars are.... I wonder what you guys think.... I am sure a TypeS will outrun the Prelude, but what about a CLP? I read some status, they run pretty much around the same time..... What you guys think?
I write here cuz the TL is the closet thing to the CL-P, and CLS guys of course will spank them hard..... thats why I wanna know what yall think!

Also, forgot to say, the reason I cant stand him was he kept saying his Prelude is all that, and he can spank Accord V6 easy, so the 3.2 will go down as well..... I cant stand people dun respect others car, even if it's a Metro, they owner still pay for it, so it worth some respect... Thats why I want to make sure he is wrong, and also 3.2 and Accord V6 are similiar, but not the same....

I have no idea. Try it and let us know
It really depends on the driver of the 5 speed too. If he's like some driver's I know, I would spank him on my bicycle.

been there and done that i raced my friend that has a 2000 prelude base. I got the jump off the line cause i have automatic. i had 1/2 car on him off the line. we were so dead even all the way up to about 80 that i could have written my signature with a marker on the front fender of his car. after 80 he started to pull slightly but never cleared the front of my car. we raced 3 times and a few times i felt as though i was pulling on him. we both had a compleatly full tank of gas and i had a 200 Lb passenger with me. my car had almost 5000 miles on it. i also raced a modded integra type R that had an intake and to my suprise and his i beat him both races we only got to about 70 MPH when he gave up. i got a bigger head start on him due to the fact integras are very difficult to launch well. in both cases the opponent had 5 speed and they either have to spin the tires or burn the clutch and in either case i always got 1/2 or more carlength off the line that they could never gain back. mostly they are even until you hit 4th gear.
let us know your outcome

Okay, FYI. I have the TL, which got the same engine as the CL-P. I have raced with a Prelude type SH, 5 speed of course. Not sure about the mods on his car, but it was lowered and got an exhaust. He might have the intake but I am not sure.
My TL is totally stock. We did had a chance to drag race. But he was in front of me when we got off the ramp. I am VERY SURE that my car can at least keep up with him all the way until 160km/h. I have say that it was REALLY close. I don't think I can really catch up. Anyhow we were in rush hour traffic. I let him go as soon as we hit 100mph. Because I think it was too dangerous and stupid to race in traffic.
If you gonna have a drag race. I think you have a pretty good chance. Because it's not that easy to get a damn good start with the stick.

TLs can beat preludes. as for SH, doesnt really matter in a straight line, kus theyre the same as base models and the SH (super handling), ATTS distribute equal power aruond corners, so has no advantage when going straight line.

Hands down, the TL would win. I mean come on dont you think that an Acura is superior to a Honda. I mean, if we can grease V6 accords dont you think that we can grease a prelude? If your not sure about it race him and bet him a $100, when his ass is short $100 bones hell know not to talk $hit to a TL owner. Use your SS and Fuc% him all up!!!

Just so you know the Prelude base and SH are different in other ways than the ATTS. The SH is around 200 lbs hevier than the base. Therefore making the base five speed the fastest of the 5th gens. The reason the TL jump off the line is the large amount of torque and NOT because of the automatic. If you beat a Type R you should definately been able to beet a prelude. The ludes are fast but not as fast as the R.

I know that, all I was saying was that an Acura is superior. Do you think that the Accord V6 limited ed. is the same thing as a TL? Hell no, the TL is Superior to it. Thats all I was saying...$hitface

prelude = 15.5
TL = 15.2
good comparison because it was tested by the same people, so even if the time is faster, both will be faster and so its fair. a good driver in a prelude will beat an accord. plus the TL has a 3.2L compared to the accords 3.0L, so it is not the same car.

basically both SH and base models are the same, the extra weight derive from the ATTS system. and the extra weight is a mere 90lbs, not 200.
