What is the deal with these chrome door handles? Who came up with that, some ex-Ford Product Marketing person? I think it detracts from all the models except maybe the Black and Silver colored models. It breaks to lines from the side view in my opinion. It almost kept me from buying that car.

I disagree. I don't think that there is enough chrome. Why is it that every car has to look plastic-like and cheap, but it is OK to have chrome rims? What the fu(k is wrong with chrome on the car!!!???!!!

 

I love how the chrome handles look on my Naples Gold Metallic TL.

I personally like how it looks on my car (white diamond perl) I think it adds a little class to the car. But any more than what it has on now, would be too much, IMO.

I love the chrome door handles on my black TL. It matches perfectly with my 17" Giovanna rims.

Anything more would be too much.

 

Some people, ask me, "did the car come like that?"

 

I think it even adds the luxury to the car, a luxury car must have all the pieces that make the whole car be that way.

CHROME is da shiet!!!! I DISAGREE!!!! I like how the Lincoln LS V8 has chrome on its bumpers. Yall know what im talking about?

 

It may be noticeable at first, but now I love it. I think it would look like crap without it. Can you say Ford Taurus.

I definitely don't doubt that. That's why our TL's should never have anything to do with those P.O.S.

 

I like the chrome handles. Not only do they make the car look a step above the rest, they help hide the wear on the handles. I especially like the fact that our handles are slightly rounded outwards, noy like that flat looking cheap handle the I30 has. Looks like someone put a chrome sticker on those flat handles. The chrome looks good to me!

Hey, look at Lexus, the door handles look like they came from a Toyota parts bin. At least with Acura they honor the legacyof Honda's motorcycle "wing"

 

Well, I know I'll get flamed for this...but our TL's aren't that far apart from the Accord except maybe the tranny and it's a lot quieter. Oh, wood, more leather, upgraded stereo, etc.

I didn't really like the chrome door handles either, so i mad them body colored. Not with paint though. I used a silver vinyl(same vinyl i used for my headlight finishers) and covered the Handles in them. They look sweet as hell, no bubbles, perfectly seamless just like factory paint. Car looks more sporty now without too much chrome. Also, if I ever decide to revert back to chrome handles, I just have to heat and remove the vinyl.

When i first bought the car, I wanted to get them painted, Im glad i didnt!

 

I think chrome looks perfectly fine on the TL.

 

I have no problem with chrome on a car. I just feel that on most of the TL color models that the chrome initially forces your eye to the door handles and not the more appealing features of the car. I got the black one because I felt the handles looked best on that color.

What are you talking about??? crome Handle is cool. I often use the crome on the door handle to blind people on the street caused by the sun's reflection.

Me thinks that the chrome door handles would hide the abuse and scratches from errant keys and other rough handling better than painted handles. I love my classy chrome handles!

 

I personally really like the chrome door handles a lot. When I heard that they may use body colored handles on the 2002, I thought "Pleeeeeeeeeease don't use the Accord handles"

I've had a lot of people ask about the "custom" work I've had done on my car, particularly the fake notched shift gate..

I've gotten the occaisional Acura Accord comments too.. My VP used to rip on my car a lot (he drives a '98 Accord EX V6) until he took a ride in it. ;-)

The similarity to the Accord isn't a bad thing - How many times has it won C&D's "Ten Best"? The Accord is an amazingly well-thought-out, everything-to-everyone family sedan. It's an excellent car for people who don't care about cars the way we do.

To say that the TL is an enhanced Accord (which is what it is, after all...) is, as far as I'm concerned, a big compliment!

CHROME, I guess if you were Black...

 

I like the chrome handles. It accentuates the flow of the body very well, accompanied by the chrome strips along the windows. I wouldn't change it. Not too much chrome, not too little, just perfect in my opinion.

 

see im just the opposite, i hate the chrome. id rather it be body color. now if you could get it in black chrome maybe id like it.

i love the chromey bling handles....they add style and class to the car....although call me wierd i would've preferred a style that incorporated a pull handle.....like the gen3s....or TSXs....if they have that.....dunno why i like that better...
