christmas for the tl....

christmas is coming up and im not sure what to get the tl.

2k2, type-s, tinted, aem cai

a. front lip, who all makes front lips for our cars?
b. rear swaybar
c. apexi ws2 catback
d. hids for the fogs
e. vafcII

f. anything else?

i could do two of the cheaper items such as front lip/rsb or just a vafc, hids, catback, ect.

what do you think?

alright seems like swaybars is in favor; how about a braking upgrade?
slotted/dimpled rotors, ebc greenstuff pads, ss lines?

i may also be able to get a good deal on a 3rd gen's brembos; guy i know got the back end of his car taken off by a semi in his work parking lot and is going to try to part the car out.

anyway to make those calipers work on a 2nd gen?

what should i expect to pay for the oem front lip?

and what size are the stock fog bulbs?

stock fog bulbs= 9006

oem front lip= i dont think they sell them piece by piece... but for a full kit you should be
expecting to pay 600-1000

sway bars= neuspeed, eibach, comptech and like Technique suspensions or something

not sure on the Calipers though.

No you have the choice between comptech 22mm rear , eibach 23mm rear and neuspeed 19mm rear.. they are all 27mm in the front .. ill recommend comptech and eibach since neuspeed are stock size..

the last time i did a front swaybar it wasn't terribly difficult. maybe 20-30 minutes. 45 if you've never done one before. i would go with the eibachs myself. i have experienced them in a TL and there was little to no body flex. they also happen to be the thickest ones we can get.

stay away from comptech. the bars they use are hollow and i had my front swaybar (comptech) snap in two earlier this year because it rusted from the inside out due to trapped moisture.

Looking at your mods list...I think lowering it should be #1.....if not then sways. I'd vote for HID fogs next....but the problem is you drive in snow...and the reason is that I'm not 100% sure if the HID kit you'll get for fogs will get hot enough to melt the snow build up.

If it doesn't...then that mod is a complete waste and you might just end up shorting it instead. Also...I'd probably not put on HID fogs without some sort of protection like Lexan lens...or at the very least a clear bra over the glass.

As for the front lip....I wouldnt get that unless you get the whole kit. I definitely wouldnt get the vafcII...and I'd think twice about getting the catback.

For functionality the sways are your best best...but I'd lower it first so you can at least get a better look. I got sway first and after going through the experience myself, I'll always lower first before adding sways.

Besides...having a higher ride with stiffer sways will only increase your chance of broken endlink rods and brackets.

I would go HID for fogs first
then exhaust
then vafc
then front lip
then rear sway bar

still on stock rubber; this spring i plan on picking up a set of 19 ronjohn inspyres or what ever they are.

I have experence with a vafcII and have use of an aem wideband af gauge till i sell my rx7 to use to tune.

i want to wait on suspension till spring with rims/tires so im guessing the wsII or hid fogs for now.

does the tl with the wsII resemble a g35 coupes exhuast tone?

even with knowing how to tune, without alot of mods its a waste of money

not sure on that exhaust but the comptech does resemble it
