Chopped engine cover on a rainy day

I was searchin something to do.
[IMG][/IMG]
The intake manifold was painted during the Thermoblock instal.
I took out the center part with a dremmel ,i kept the edge where the Six pack used to snap to in case i changed my mind and i repainted the engine cover with some Metalcast paint, its hard to see te anodized effect on the picture but it looks great. And i think it can't hurt to keep the IM a bit colder.

Ps:Negative feedbacks are welcome

You know the center piece just pops out. You don't need to use a dremel.

Red is my favorite engine color, but blue still looks good. Paint the IM cover a silver/chrome.

I meant the center piece under the sixpack, the one that fits between the intake port. When i poped the sixpack it was ugly looking .

I agree....red looks good. This is what I did when I experimented with painting about a month ago. It still looks like that but I am going to do what fsttyms1 suggested and smooth it and repaint the engine cover so it doesn't look like plastic. Looks good though, I think the engine bay needs some contrast in it and painting the engine cover does it for me...just my

What kind of paint are you using for this?

I'm probably gonna paint mine blue with silver accents. (car is blue, so why not continue the theme?)

Mm, wow. I actually really like that cover painted silver. I might do it to mine now.

Thanks...there are a few areas I need to fix, that is why I am gonna redo the whole thing.

I used Duplicolor paint from Autozone. My car is SSM so that is why I went with silver for the engine cover, but after seeing it done on my car, I really think it would look good no matter what color the car was. I would recommend sanding the engine cover and using a filler/primer on it to smooth it out so it doesn't look like painted plastic. That is something I will do eventually when I have the time. I may paint the bolts black instead of red to see what they look like...not sure.
