Chi-town Acura Dealers??
The name dealer is used loosely here...these guys (and occasional woman) don't want to deal at all!! You'd think they were only getting 1 TL-S per year!
Let's here from you Chicago area TL-S drivers...WHO GOT THE BEST DEAL AND WHERE?!!

I've had similar problems. Most only want to do a deal at MSRP. They think they are doing you a big favor if they give you $500 off. I'm waiting until next weekend -- EOM -- to see if they will be more interested.

It is the same situation here too. The Acura dealerships in or near the asian communities are very stuck-up. I attribute this attitude to all those who pay in cash and sometimes in full at full MSRP.
I would like to think this will help all who know how to deal, but I am wrong. They seem to expect a sale at full list price for all who walk through the door. This is why I went there to test drive (really test drive) and went elsewhere to buy.

I just spoke with a salesperson at McGrath. He had the same song and dance about low supply high demand, selling at MSRP. With any luck, and some bad weather this weekend to keep me out of the yard, I will get more serious this weekend and see if I can negotiate a good deal.
I'm looking for at TL-S with navi. The way I figure there is about $4000 of profit (33710MSRP-30430Invoice+674holdback). My take is that is too much.

I bought my TL Type S from Pauly Acura in Highland Park; IIRC it was $1700 below MSRP. They were courteous, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with from one end to another. It's not the first Acura I've bought there, and it certainly won't be the last.
I've also had service done at Mueller in Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg, no complaints there as well. Their service department is excellent.

Which McGrath??....Glenview or Countryside? Get this, I talk to the dealer in Libertyville....says the next WDP/Parchment/Navi won't be in until June or July. I'd rather have one that's fresh off the truck, but I can't believe it's that far off. Then I call McGrath in Countryside. $1,500 off the sticker right off the bat and they have one on the lot (it's been there for a few weeks.) I drive out there after they closed tonight and saw that the VIN was in the 4K range. Rotors are all rusted so you know it's been there a few weeks. How can one dealership have one around for a while and another can't seem to keep them in. I also drove past Muller in Schaumburg and they had WDP/Ebony not Parchment. I think I'll call Pauly tomorrow.

This was McGrath in Countryside. Who did you talk with re: $1500 off? A brief conversation was: MSRP, oh well maybe $200 off. Although it was odd that he said: "we can't keep them in stock" but indicated that he "just" got some in about 2.5 weeks ago that he could sell me. I would think that if they couldn't keep them in stock, they'd be selling them more quickly. I think he said there were about 6 on the lot.

I'm getting ready to "go in" in a couple of weeks. I've been to Arlington Acura -- don't even go there. None of Bob Rorhman's dealerships were ever good to customers. I've been to Libertyville -- they seemed reasonable and layed back. Will probab;y check with them. Pauly Acura in Highland Park is great -- I bought an Integra from them 5 years ago. But this time around I ran into a moron of a salesman. Nice guy, but a moron. Don't know if I want to go there again.
Here's my pitch though. I am plannin on going to Zimbrick Acura (somewhere near Madison). It's a 2.5 hour drive for me, but I've spoken to them on the phone, a friend of mine got a great deal there on his TL a year ago, and I've read good things about that dealership on this board. Will call ahead of course, but so far my plan is to go there.

Zimbrick in Madison is at MSRP. Woodfield Acura seems to best place to go if you want
to get a TL-S for $1700 off of MSRP or 32k. However - I want to get one for 31k or less - so I am willing to wait. Taxes in IL stink - as much as 8.25% in some suburbs.
Might be better off going to Oregon where there is no state sales tax or some other state where taxes are much lower.
