checked out new TL
Had my 2002 TL-s in for some minor service before I go off warranty.. So I decided to take a little test drive in a new 2005 Tl auto...First off this is my first experience geeting behind the new Tl. My first impression is the what an interior everything is blended so well from the seat memory switches down to the cool alumium on the counsel... real aluminum no less... those blue gauges bueatiful !!!!! Love the interior. By the way I drove a black pearl color super color...
next the ride...alright so this realy where the rubber hits the road. Start up real similar to my TL-s... Minor vibration through the steering wheel... ? thought acura should have smoothed that issue out by now... my tl-s has some also. I am under way now... First thing I notice how more secure the brakes feel compared to mine .. diffenetly an improvement . Underway the body structure itself felt a little more taught.. stiffer? Rattles/noises were non exisistent.. What about the beef... power. Well I wasn't all that inpressed with its acceleration. The car seemed to lack the torque of the TL-s ... now I wonder that impression is from the newer TL being heavier ? I don't no... but off the line I was'nt that impressed.. I am trying to compare this car to my Tl-s before I put the h/i/e on so i might be a little critical of the performance of the new TL. Handling i thought was quite good... although agian I am comparing to my TL-s that has sway bars light weight BBS rims and Yoko tires. But I do beilve the new TL handles real similar to my car set with the sways.
the bottom line... did I buy this car .. no... a great car that is it worth $35K ..yes ..do I think is worth another $15K to $18K over my mine... Although I will have so say the interior is gorgeous.. On another note... speaking with a couple of the sales dudes something is in the works maybe mid 2006 for either the TSX or TL hot rod ... looks like possible 300 hp w/AWD. wow now you are talking... my check book will be open..
