Check Engine Light / Transmition Problems
Check Engine Light / Transmition Problems
I have a 99 TL and my Check Engine light has recently come on. I took the car to acura and they ran some tests and the computer results said it could be my 3rd grear slipping, and I am getting mulitiple misfires from my cylinders 2-6.
Now I do feel that my tranny is kicking a bit when changing gears... Is this something to be worried about? Would an oil change help? I have 178 km and never changed the fluid (bought the car at 160km).
Can trannys be repaired or do they have to be replaced? Any idea how much it costs?
Is acura the only place that can run computerized testing on the car?
much thanks,
Mike - Toronto

well if it is the tranny its going to need to be replaced or rebuilt. ther is nothing to "fix" them once they are showing signs of failure. thru the dealer its between 4-5000 dollars. from aftermarket tranny rebuilders 2-3500$$
yes any one who repairs cars and does diagnostics can do computer testing
