Check Engine Light AGAIN!!! ARGH!!!

So, I have had my 2002 TL 3.2 Type S for a total of 10 days and 5 of those 10 days, it has sat in the Acura Service department. At 50 miles, my Check Engine Light goes on and I take it in and they claim that the gas cap was not tightened all the way. Possible, but not too likely. They say the code was P1475 or P1457 not sure which, but they said they called Tech Line and went through 6 pages of flow charts and found nothing wrong. Today, as I am driving to work, the f*cking light goes on again, now at 200 miles. I bring it in and now they say it is "probably" the charcoal canister and some two-way solenoid valve...but it is showing the same code. At this point, I am pissed...I have to drive around in a boring and loud Honda Civic as a rental car and needless to say I should be getting a lot more than that. Anyone have any similar problems??? Do you think I can get them to give me a different car??

You guys have a lemon law down there?

Be worth a try to get different car. Make the comment to the service manager that they must not be interested in return customers, have to think about a Lexus next time ...

To have that check engine light go off is a nightmare. I hate to take my car to the dealer. Worried that someone is going to ding or scrape it.

P1457 is a DTC for I believe (no service manual here at home sorry) a leak in the evaporative emission controls .It can be a bastard to diagnose .Something as innocent as a tiny spider nest in a vent line for this system is enough to set a DTC .Give the dealer a chance to locate and correct the problem .I know it is very dissapointing to have problems from the get go ,but I have diagnosed this system many times and it is without doubt a tough one .Jens

Thanks...After the second time, they think they figured out the problem...All of the functional tests passed, but he decided to replace the charcoal canister, two-way solenoid valve and another part and while he was replacing it, he found that an O-ring was not in properly, allowing a slow-leak and probably causing the problem...
