check engine light!!!!!!!! =(
whats up kids, i have a 99 TL with about 79 k on it, really clean with some nice 16% tint. As of late my check engine light has been coming on along with my TCS light, the car still drives fine, but it kinda drives me nuts and i dont like my almost perfect tl to have problems. If anyone has a solution please post back.

I got my 99TL with 103000 miles fixed. Mine is the same situation like yours, Both TCS and Check Engine lights come on together. Reset it and it came back again in a day or two. Cleaned the intake manifold cover and the Idle Valve Controller with carburator cleaner. On the intake manifold cover there were 6 air intake hole for the pistons and a small hole at the end (do not know what hole is call), Some carbon deposit in 6 piston holes and the small hole is completely covered with carbon. I use a baby bottle cleaning brush to clean the big holes and the small hole opening is about 1/4" dia., use a very small brush if you could find one.
Be really careful when you clean the Idle Valve Controller ( the one at the very bottom with 2 coolant hose at the end of the air intake, a special Honda bit is needed to open the 2 screws(not Torx, looks like a Blossom shape to me) housing if needed).
Today is day 4 after I cleaned it and the lights are still off, acceleration is better now.

what does your clean car with wicked tint, have to do with your check engine light and your tcs light? heres a suggestion. take it in to acura and hook up the diagnostics computer, then for a slightly mediocre fee, they will tell you why your lights are on. then you can use that brain of yours and head on back to mcdonalds, work another 2000 hours, and pay for it to get fixed.
problem solved.

Drive down to the nearest Autozone and have them hook up their code reader to the ODBII port. They'll reqad the codes for you at no charge. Stop all the guessing and do it right the first time.
