Cheaper Car Covers
Get the one made by California Car covers. They make several but I got the one that's made of superlight fabric almost like a parachute. It's super light, keeps the dust out, and never scratches the paint. It's super expensive but worth it. Don't get the heavy Nohah fabric it sucks!
Thanks jetjock.
I used this cover I had (until I purchase a better one) and I suspect that it put some light scratches into my car. I'm hoping that these are only surface scratches and can be buffed out.
I'll check out your suggestion!

I don't use a cover, but if you want some additional information, you might want to look at this article.

Thanks Darla! I probably will become a non-cover user as well. For any interested, I just spoke with Sal Zaino (of Zaino Brothers; extremely nice guy) and he mentioned that ANY car cover can be damaging. Sal mentioned that if the cover is not snug, the wind can pick it up and the seams will scratch the paint. Then Sal related an experience that they had this car at their shop covered. Well some kids that play nearby kept "accidentally" hitting the car and not worrying since it was covered up. When Sal went to uncover the car he said the vehicle looked like it had been pelted with bullets. In case anyone has suffered some light scratches on your TL (a light scratch is defined as one that your nail won't get caught on when running your finger over the scratch), Sal promises his Z5 will remove the scratches AND swirl marks. Of course, there are other products that are suggested to use before and after the Z5. All in all, the total comes out to a little under $50....not bad to repair and protect your paint from scratches and swirl marks.
I think I'll be trashing that cover for now and cleaning out my garage!
As soon as I try the Z1, 2, 5 and 6, I'll post the findings.

If you buy a good car cover it will never scratch your car. Guaranteed by the manufacturer. I've had covers on all my cars back to 1984 and never had any problems. I use the one by California Car Covers that sells for about $200+
TL4Mo... Zaino is the bomb... do a search on here and on the CL board, you'll find that around 80% of the people on here use it. I've also turned 2 people here at work onto it, and by now they have at least 3 coats!!

CONGRATS on selling your car. It seemed like an extremely clean and well-cared for vehicle. I'm sure whoever bought it will be happy for years to come. Now back to you, moving on to the Type S....excellent. I look forward to the pix of your new baby!
Thanks for the affirmation on Zaino...I can't wait to try the stuff out.
Sal did suggest that if I could not stand the slight scratches until my product came in, I could use 3M's Swirl and scratch remover. I'm thinking of getting some during lunch.....scratches are not noticeable to anyone else, but they are bugging the crap out of me!mad:
Thanks
