Cheap power

I was talking to one of my mechanic buddies today, and he mentioned something about a crank and pully set, that gave some decient power. Only like, 200 bucks. I was wondering if there were anything out there like that for the TL. Or, maybe if not, if there was something that you could do, just to make it a little faster than stock. I understand that making your car fast is kinda pointless, because there really is no where to race up here (NH) I am spending all my cash on Audio anyways, so I just want something simple.

Hit me back.

Yes, there are several pulley kits out for the TL. They won't give you big power but they'll give a little bit. You mentioned you were doing a lot of audio work. If so, I'd recommend against an underdrive pulley kit. At idle your alternator will not be able to provide enough power for your audio system. If you idle a good bit, you might not charge your battery as much as you normally would (shorter battery life).

you want cheap power? try a cold air intake..or just a short ram intake. Some nice headers would give u quite a bit, but doens't look like you're willing to spend tha tmuch.

Most intake are dyno proven what are you talking about?? You can upgrade your alernator or have it rebuilt for around $250 and you could get the full pulley set (crank, ps steering, alt)

When the temperature is right you'll get about 3% increase on the horsepower.

I had CAI and exhaust on my Legend. Only mods I had. It added quite a bit of high end power. Once the car hit its peak RPM at 4000 rpm (you could REALLY hear the intake at exactly 4000 rpm), you could feel a rush of more power than when it was stock. As the speed increased, you could feel it was pulling much harder. The colder the air outside, the bigger the increase in power of course. And yes, it did sound cool.

Ok if you get the intake you are most likely gonna suffer a minor loss of gas mileage. WHY? You will want to hear it screaming constantly!!! I wanna add headers and pulleys too just need to get tax money...

heh CAI is all about high end hp gain..gives you virtually no torque, but hey an extra 10-15hp for 200 bux or so? not too bad

No, see, you cant compromise bling bling for speed.... you have to have an equial ratio of bling bling and speed or you are not a baller. like an Esclade supercharged, but with 24" niche's...
