you need to open the vent at rear of of center console
Air gets blown thru plastic ducts to their end- where its open or closed at the actual vent = air needs to escape

Close them and heat or cold builds up in the tube and radiates outward
Neat trick for keeping drinks warm or cold,,, but very bad for any cd's you have stored in there

Just open the vent and leave it open

Look at the back side (like 01tl4tl said) from the back seat. You will see the vents there.

Let's not be too harsh on him. For the longest time, I didn't know the armrests in the back seat had cup holders. I'm never back there.

that is not so bad, because they would be hidden, and you only see them with the armrest down (but should have been seen if you where actually cleaning the whole interior)

Seriously, when some of you buy a new vehicle do you not take the time to inspect, crawl around in it looking at thing pulling on handles etc and learn the car? There is also a thing called a manual. It should be read, there is some good information in it!
Those that dont did you know it has a sliding arm rest that opens 2 different ways? Did you know that you can crawl into the trunk close the trunk lid and you are able to open it with the safety release cable? This car also uses gas.......... I know, kinda hard to believe but it does!

regardless of whether or not your rear vents are open, the whole center console will still remain hot. hot air will still pass through the ducts and things will be warm.

never got my manual with my car (i did get the owner's binder though, with everything else, just no manual), but i did not really need it anyways, when i did/do need something, there is always the online version at http://owners.acura.com/landing.aspx

having them closed will proably keep the console from getting as warm with them open due to the lack of airflow through them,

anyways it is kinda nice during the seasons for me, warm in the winter, and cool in the summer from the a/c being on, and flowing through those vents, so doesn't really bother me at all

umm.... know the outside vents on the dash, how they have those little dials to shut off the air flow through them, that are right below them
same thing with the rear hvac, the dial is right next to them, actually it is right smack in between them (also it is vertical movement instead of horiziontal movement like the dash ones)
