Center console getting hot????

I have noticed that when i'm driving my center console feals really warm almost hot. I have a cold drink in the cup holder and in 30 min of driving its warm. I was wondering if anybody else is having the same thing happen? Is this normal or should i be worried?

if its still cold where you are and you are using the heater, that is the culprit.. there are ducts inside the console that send air to the rear vents..

...so that the hot air will blow out the back and not get blocked in console.

thats the trick- open those rear console vents and let the air blow out
It gets sent there under fan pressure and sits,,and builds as more air is sent there...
must escape...
the plastic tube for the air doesnt seal great and leaks out too-
you can pull the console and use insulating wrap on the pipe to prevent temp transfer to your CD collection

its really better to leave the rear console vents open all the time
the temp buildup is not good for things in the storage bin

Yeah, thats better, but i don't like it at all that it gets so hot. The newer TLs don't have this issue. Bad design.

I've noticed that too. My center console is cold as ice when the AC is on...i figured it was cuz of the vents. The more little quirks I find out about this car the more I dont' like it. It drives like a champ and handles pretty good for a stock set up but man...Acura sure dropped the ball on this design.

I thought it was just a weird thing happening to me! It gets so hot that I cannot keep anything in the console box itself or it'll melt... ink pens markers any of that stuff I cannot keep anything in it. And I never put a drink that has ice in it or any drink that I want to keep cold at all in the cup holders because it melts the ice and makes the drink warm much faster than normal. (Excuse my wording, apparently I can't talk / type correctly today)
