they are quoting you the entire center console price. The piece with the spring loaded doors..

the piece we are talking about ordering for $8CAD-$5USD, is the plastic insert that the drinks sit inside the opening below the doors in the center console..

When I asked the dealer to order it for me he told me it was $125CAD and he showed me the part on the computer.. it was the whole door contraption.. I had to correct him and point out the $5 part. luckly it was a pre-pay part, otherwise he would have ordered the console for me...

The 01-03 cup holder part number is 77237-S0K-A02 and typically sells for under $5. Make sure that you get 77237-S0K-A02, and not 77237-S0K-A01. 77237-S0K-A01 is the cup holder for the 99-00 holder (my dealer ordered the wrong on the first time and it took about 5 min to explain to them there was a difference between the two models).

There is only one color (black) right? I am planning to order this from my dealer so I don't need to pay for shipping.

Yes it only comes in black. Dealer price already include the shipping price, so doesn't matter where you buy it. Make sure you give then the part#, those dumb parts dept might order you the crappy 99-00 TL's cupholder.

I got the newer cupholder for the TL and trimmed the two tabs on the side to get them fit into the cupholder housing. Anyways I just noticed that the cupholders seem to be a tad bit loose when I put a drink into it or take it out. Is there any way to make the cupholder more sturdy and not move like the original cupholders I had?

Sure, buy some little rubber feet (usually clear or black rubber, the come on a sheet of like 50, have adhesive backings – you can find them in most hardware stores) that are used on the bottom of small boxes and small counter-top kitchen appliances. Look your cup holder over a bit and see where you can stick one so that it will contact the sides of compartment the holder sits in. Your basically trying to get the rubber foot to exert some (not much, just enough to keep the tray from lifting up) pressure on the tray and wedge itself in the compartment.

Great idea! I'll give that a try. Thanks.
