CEL under hard acceleration?

Under WOT the CEL light flashes for about 30 seconds then goes away. Has this happened to anyone before?

Have the codes checked. If the CEL came on, it should have a code stored.
Any other issues ?

It was a misfire code.

Have ya tried to reset the "SRS" light ?
If ya wanna save a trip to the stealership, check out the 2nd Gen's "DIY" sticky. It's the 3rd one down from the top of the page.

Within the DIY's is a very simple procedure to try....if it fails to reset or should the "SRS" light come back on again after the reset, then ya have no choice....but to seek more skilled help if ya want the problem fixed.

I tried the reset and we will see what happens. I did pull apart my dash and do the LED conversion for the gauges so I think that's what tripped it because it wasnt on before. As far as the engine light, should I get Acura to check it out?

Have a local auto parts store read the "CEL" code for free. Then tell us what it is.
If the CEL only comes on during "WOT"....and seems to be otherwise running normal, it may just be a built in ~warning~ of sorts, IDK. But, anyways there should be a stored code, have it checked out.

You have a misfire under WOT conditions. Not a big deal if you aren't beating the shit out of your car everywhere.

If you want to fix it, check spark plugs and only use Premium gas. SeaFoam can clean out some crud from the years.

Im gonna go get some new plugs and throw those in and see what happens. I don't beat on it a lot, that's not what the car is meant for. But getting on the highway at 6000 feet with a NA V6 requires a heavy foot. The thing is a pig up here.
Thanks for the replies guys! Hopefully I can get it worked out!

Went to the Autoparts store today. Misfire on cylinder 1 and 5. Got some new NGK plugs as well as the BG 44K fuel system treatment and we will see how it goes!

Yeah, BG fuel cleaner is good stuff. Try that first, run the tank down letting it clean the deposits...and then replace the plugs. Clear the codes. Should the CEL come back later, ya may wanna consider buying one coil and see if ya can isolate the misfire.

Simply go to the top of the 2nd Gen TL forum's main page and then scroll down to about the third "sticky" post for the official 2nd Gen "DIY" thread. Once you're in there, ya will find all the good repair stuff for most of our common TL issues.

Or ya can just search for the "SRS" reset.
But, if ya already done it ....and the light is back on, ya may end up having a real problem with the SRS system.
