Carbon Fiber shiftgate?

My shiftgate is pretty roughed up . I was wondering if anyone has just covered their shiftgate with some fake cf vinyl layer of stuff or whatever. I searched and only found DIY's on painting it or making it chrome and I don't like the way any of those looked. Just wonderin if anybody has seen a CF shiftgate or if it would be that hard to get some CF sticker or whatever to just lay over it.

Also if anybody thinks that would look alright.
Circle one please kthnxbye.

I bought a roll of CF vynal thats like a sticker. For my shitfgate I plan on laying the CF on the actual gate part, then painting the ring around it silver to match my trim. I'll post up pics when I decide to do it.
