Carbon fiber parts
I know its been talked about before but its been a while. Looking to replace my roof, trunk and hood with carbon fiber. I've found a company that has the hood, has anyone found a company that does a roof or trunk?

^ Or much more than 1/4 of the price in the case of the roof. Replacing the roof with CF sounds like big $$$

most of these mods for these types of cars is just form.
there's not really any function, unless you spend more than $10k in the form of R&D for a company to produce you a CF roof.
and I know that you're not willing to spend $10k on a roof.

There are far cheaper ways to reduce a lot of weight on these cars if that is what you are going for .

Just eat a few less burgers and hit the gym OP, sure as hell way cheaper than CF errrthangggg!

I know there are cheaper methods of weight reduction. But on my hood and roof the clear coat is peeling. And on the hood I have rock and other such paint chipping so I figured take the money to have it repainted well and buy the cf hood.

A Lithium Ion Battery replacement is a good way to reduce a lot of weight on the front corner of the car. I can see a CF hood making some sense if you are after weight reduction. I'd analyze how much it costs per pound of weight loss when comparing various options. Rotating weight reduction is more valuable that non-rotating.

Rotational inertia is a scalar, not a vector and is dependent upon the radius of rotation according to the formula rotational inertia = mass x radius^2.

^ Rotational mass Or UnSprung weight will effect the car much more than overall weight (to a point of course) You will notice 5lbs of rotational mass/UnSprung weight reduction, The same cant be said for removing 5lbs from the hood, trunk etc.. Look into Light weight pulley, Lighter rims (and tires, not all tires weigh the same even if they are the same size). And like i said, if weight reduction is something you are really after there are far better ways and cheaper. Odds are the CF hood you get will weigh as much if not more than the stock (i have seen it many times on various cars over the years). Most are made for looks, and not overall weight reductions. Look for better lighter seats, remove unnecessary things from the car, lighter battery (also relocate to the trunk to better distribute weight) etc..
