Maybe too light that it might pop off the latch and then cause an accident or something. Lol jk, idk why they would put that.

It would matter because they don't wanna be liable for those accidents even though the warning was given.

its not legal here due to federal crash-worthiness standards
the front and rear (trunk) panels of the car are made to deform on impact,,
absorbing the shock so it doesnt get to the cabin and you = causing serious injury

Metal can be fixed or replaced,,Humans,,not so well

the particular metal used in the hood, its rib design, structural elements- are all
made to deform at a certain rate and directions etc
Look at crashed cars- see how the hood buckles up- so it doesnt come thru the windshield and decapitate you? as the fenders go out
While the engine will drop down so it doesnt intrude on the cabin

If people could learn to drive, we could have simpler cars~
move to Europe! they get models we will never see,,
and they have interesting cars too!

to answer to other obvious question- vinyl wrap is awesome !
go to a professional shop and let them do it
the cost is much less than you imagine, and if they make a mistake
they cut another small repair piece
if you make a mistake= you buy an entire new sheet

I have seen many race cars and street cars, the race clubs SUV was wrapped from one end to the other in advertising--the vinyl looks great, cleans easily, and wont leave a damaged surface behind if you decide to remove it in a year or 3

No personal preferance on brands - look in phone book and internet for vinyl overlays in your town
they are everywhere
places that make banners and stuff,,probably a good start or resource

if they do printing on vinyl- you can customize it- have your initials or car club name embedded into the CF weave,,how slick would that look!

That's pretty sick actually and a whole lot smarter rather than buying that hood I mean I'm doing it for the looks not to lessen the wait for racing an what not

It's like 280 for a hood wrap? And 3000 for the whole car.... That's more than a paint job isn't it ?

01tl4tl same thing i was thinking no crumple zones on that hood means if doesnt pass safety standards so it can only be sold as off road use only, same things for almost every product sold for cars, ever seen "smoke screen" exhaust kits? Or flame thrower kits clearly on them it says offroad use only so when you get a ticket trying to be cool you can't sue them

You could cut out the support frame under the hood, save maybe 10 lbs and wrap it, and you can get the wrap sheet and do it yourself
