My contact is still waiting on the fabricator. The fabricator has the cover and is currently working on some other project that have pulled him away from this one.

Hey Nuckz23
I contacted another member on another forum who said he could manufacturer CF pieces.
He replied...
hey man,
I would need to see a picture of one,top and bottom, and how they sit on the engine.
then i would say a price.
But for example; i just extended a wing 2" and wrapped it in a week time.so I get things done.
Thanks,

If anybody has access to a cover that is already removed...can you take some pics?
I just sent him a reply back because the word "wrapped" has me confused...

So I checked with the other guy and took a look at his thread...
This is a "wrapped" CF...
Basically, OEM part but is wrapped in Real CF and then resin, sanded, buffed, whatever.
So the look of CF but not the weight savings of Real CF.
This option would be cheaper I would imagine then the traditional method.
I don't know how I feel about it but here is a gas lid he did..

There is something unfinished about it that I don't like...but hopefully he has some better stuff that hasn't been posted yet.

So from the start...it was all about looks.

Well...the stickers or vinyl just don't look right.
Me too...hopefully we can get a sensible price.

Thanks for all your efforts nf3d0149ab. To answer a few questions, the original plan was to have an engine cover made for the TL-S. I'm sure the fabricator can make them for a TL-P as well. The plan is to have the CF cover replace the existing plastic engine cover rather than wrap it in carbon. At the moment we are waiting on the fabricator to get back to us with an update. He currently has an engine cover in hand. As many of you know, carbon fiber products are not cheap. I started this thread to get an idea of how many were intersted so that the cost would be as low as possible. If you ask me, I think the cost would be somewhere between $250-500 depending on the amount of people who actually go forward with the purchase.

thanks man
No problems here...
lol
