car wont start need help

i have a 99 tl and for some reason when you put in the key that little green key symbol doesnt come on anymore and it wont start dont want to tow the car to the dealership to see if they can fix it. its been in yard wondering whats going on. need help fast and accurate. tried all relays, all components dealing with the battery. replaced the starter, battery, transmission, engine, all wiring, alternator, belts, crank shaft pulley, power steering, pretty much got anything i can think dealing with under the hood done. im old fashioned dont know much about the electrical part of the car.

You may want to look at the ignition switch. Pretty sure this is a common failure point for your year.

Welcome Jon_vorachit !!!
Check the "DIY"s sticky for common problems and fixes.
The ignition switches on '99 TL's were notoriously bad. So, that's an easy enough thing to try as NBP04TL4ME previously suggested. If the electrical system is in good working order, it may be a good idea to download the Factory Service Manual. It has detailed diagrams of the electrical circuits and may help diagnosing the problem.

Does the motor attempt to turn over at all ? Check the grounds and connections.

did it suddenly stop running- perhaps broken timing belt? then all this work was done and it wont start now?
or it was running good then stopped and has sat in the yard?
Battery was fully charged and load tested at parts store?

no immobilizer recognition- that's the flashing green key light on dash,
not certain on exactly how that works- a guru will be here shortly~

to reach the DIY section, look at the main thread list- where you are now- go back to list and look at 4th item down `OFFICIAL 2nd Gen DIY`, click that and the 2 threads inside have all the diys- broken down by type of work- electrical engine etc
look up the `ignition switch` BACK part- the electrical part of it
and see if one for the Immobilizer

that's a start- we need a bit more info from you about when why it stopped running- that's a big list of parts to throw at a 99
Welcome to acurazine- you have found the right place to ask, one of us will know!!

Just thought of this- some have problem with the soldering connections under the relay box!! remove box and look under, ck diys

another thing: an important ground connection cable goes to a transmission housing to trans bolt. Look for anything hanging or still stuffed out of the way during other work

Did you really replace the engine and trans? with same year parts?

Note that ignition switch back part is approx number 1 of 3 reasons why a 99 shuts off randomly or wont start, doesn't recognize key = that stupid electrical part- get one aftermarket- local parts store after inspection
a 99 should have had this part replaced under recall 10 years ago!!
its easy to do again after that same cruddy part was installed~

I would definitely look there if all the ground wires and small ground braided wires from frame to eng and trans are clean and connected

thanks for the info,, do you recall which fuse or which box?

Once again proving: when the car acts up/new problem after other repairs,
ck what was last done to it~
the seemingly unrelated is in fact.....a high factor of D'oh!
