Question Car Transporting

Anyone have any opinions on quick means of transporting a car, say, from Toledo, Ohio to San Diego, CA? I've contacted 3 or 4 transport companies for pricing but the 1 week lead time and 2 week travel seems long... how do people get their cars in a week??? This is on a possible purchase (not from a dealer.)

What about one-way flatbed rentals, etc???

Thanks!

When I moved from Pennsylvania to Alabama, I had two cars placed on a flatbed and driven down. It took me 1 day to get my cars (they were the only ones on the truck). Anyway, I don't know how much it cost, but it was a lot faster than I expected. The owner/operator of the truck said he transports all kinds of stuff other than cars. I would look for someone like that in your yellow pages or in Ohio.

I would personally fly out there and drive it back...that way it's already broken in by the time you get her home.

Cool

IF you can spare the time, it would probably be cheaper to fly out and drive it back.
