I've been having a problem recently with my car. On a cold morning or night after the car has been sitting for a few hours the car doesnt want to start via remote start. I thought maybe a wires loose but then noticed it did the same thing when using a key. On a good day ill turn the key it wont start the first time maybe ill get a tick but second turn itll start. I had one day i was sitting there for a good 5 minutes before it started. I changed the battery since it was under warranty thinking it might have gone bad. Everything was good for about a month but same thing now. Sometimes itll start from the more but most times it wont. If i use key 3rd or 4th time itll start. I was thinking it may be the alternator or starter? I just changed the spark plugs recently. I also noticed that this started after i got my transmission taken care of.

 

Check for parasitic draw.


I doubt there is a parasitic draw, since it is starting eventually. Still, quick check can save time.

Get your battery tested at a store. If it is fine, then I would suspect your starter. If not, then maybe the alternator.

 

Im pretty sure theres no draw due to the fact that i dont start the car 3-4 days sometimes. I will double check just to be on the safe side.

 

Well there was no draw so i tried making a video the past 2-3 days but car was ok. Today it did the same thing and longer. First is the 1:24 video and second is about 30 seconds when i got it started. I tried it all, system off lights off, lights on, system on, heater on, heater off. No luck. Here are the videos.
