Car lurches
Car lurches
Hey all,
Anyone else experienced this?
My '02 TLS has about 18K miles on it. I've been driving it pretty hard recently, seeing as I put on a good 4K in just this past month :wow:. I've never driven the car this hard before, pushing it to 100 mph on a regular basis and accelerating rapidly. However, I almost never jump off the line at stoplights. The rapid accelerations are always on the highway.
Anyhow, I think I've finally hurt the poor thing. The lurching usually happens after a cold start in the morning. When I'm at the light in front of my house, I can feel it push against the brakes on regular intervals. Instead of a constant pressure against the brakes, it pushes, then relents, pushes, and relents, and so on.
Is this normal for a car with 18K on it? Or am I killing it by driving it so much? Oh yea, I also gave the car a 15K service the day before I moved to So Cal. It was given a clean bill of health.

This is very common, and unfortunately normal. Everytime the compressor kicks on the car will kind of jump forward. When I'm using the A/C I keep my foot harder on the brake then usual just as a precaution.

But then again, I could be wrong about the compressor :o

. My problem is that I've never felt it do that before.
