I have an 03 TL and my SRS light is on. Dealer wants to charge me to scan the code on their code reader. Has anyone had this issue before? Also, my trunk when I lift it, it comes up and bangs loud and bounces like if it doesnt have any stoppers or something. Its annoying as hell and my wife always lets it just go up and I feel like its going to break something. Should I be worried?

Perform the SRS light reset procedure. Check the DIY section for the guide. If the light continues after that, there is something wrong with your srs system.

Probably just need to replace some cushions in the trunk latch assembly. Check as the trunk opens all the way. There should be missing cushions, or holes where cushions go to stop it from banging.

 

there is a special 10 year 150kmiles SRS warranty on certain parts that fail

dealer has to say there is a charge for diagnosis, then when its found to be warranty- its all free!!!
no charge for anything

call acura care 1 800 328 2238 x5 with VIN ask if any recalls OPEN, and if your car is part of the special srs extended warranty

if you have done any electrical work to the car- or you just got it and dont know, that can cause a false SRS light
do the simple SRS reset procedure in our diy section
if light comes back, dealer time
