I am looking for a car computer I know there is a thread somewhere that someone is installing them in the Maryland area. I dont think they had what I wanted. I am currently over seas in the desert fighting for my country and the computers here suck it takes forever to load a page and then it just messes them up, so it makes browsing the threads a little difficult. I dont want to buy another stereo system, I want something that does it all.

If you use the search button with "carputer" in the search field and select it to 2nd gen it will come up with a lot of threads.

 

wait, so to clarify, you want to make a carputer for your hummer in the desert? or did you want to make a carputer for your 2nd gen back home?

I had a carputer in my old prelude. 7" lcd touchscreen. Stereo in the glove. Computer in the trunk. Power/reset button extended to the armrest. Power inverter for the power, cables hooked to the battery. A lot of people converted the power supply to a laptop battery but I didnt care to spend too much time on it. Inverter switch was upfront as well. Overall its cool, gps, video, mp3, you name it. BUt honestly, save your money and buy a double din dvd player that plays divx and you are set.
