My car is stuck in park. I can only get it out of park by pressing on the manual switch with a screw driver. Any ideas?

Plus my 12V slots and radio aren't wroking. I checked the passanger side fuses and it seems fine (still replaced it with a new fuse). Didn't help......man I hope my car isn't majorly screwed up. I'll probably have to go to the dealer but any idea now would be a help.

man, I just checked the driver side, passanger, under the hood.

All the fuses seems fine...........guess I'll take it to the dealer.

hmm... can you even ignite the engine? if you cant then can it go to the basic power mode (first click) or auxiliary (second click)?

Hmmm... I do remember someone talking about this problem before... and if I remember correctly it is something simple. But I'm sorry, I cant remember. Try doing a search on here, aw.com, and a-cl.com... maybe that will help. If you cant turn anything up, call the dealer first and ask them to avoid going in. I have a really good service manager who works on my car all the time as a personal friend. If you need I will give him a call and ask him. Bummer dude.... sorry to hear about this.

There is nothing wrong with the rest of the car. I can start the car and even drive it if I push the manual release button with the screw driver to get it out of park. Every light and function works except for : 1) Car stuck in park 2) HU lights up and spits out the CD but will not turn on or play anything 3) 12V plug aren't working either

I'll check every fuse tomorrow (again).

I remember reading about the brake light switch not working or something like that, preventing the car from getting out of park. I'll talk to Tim from Ray Laks Acura and then call my service advisor and then go in if I have to. God this is a pain in the pass.

Yea, trust me.... I know. Try getting into an accident, and allowing some body shop in Mongomery, ALABAMA try and fix it. Its almost been a year... HOLY SHIT... lol... it HAS been a year TONITE. and things are STILL not fixed. I'm pissed now. Let us know how it goes tomorrow! Good luck!

i had the same problem...i bet when u press the brake the brake light dont come on..the problem is the your car is not realizing that u are pressing the brake...i had to press the brake stick something in the shift release and bring it right to the dealer...remember, you wont have have any brake lights....be careful

yeah check to see if your brake lights come on when it happens if it doesnt its the brake light switch located by the brake pedal. i believe its a 14mm nut you break loose unplug the connector and un screw it. just be careful when you install the new one. make sure the lights work again and make sure the cruise works. a misadjusted switch wont allow the cruise to work cause it thinks the pedal is being pushed
