Can't decide, need help.
I have a brand new '03 TL-P in WDP with Parchment interior. I am getting windows tinted, but can't decide on Bronze or smoke. I know I don't want mirrored, platinum or whatever, but I have never seen a WDP with bronze. Has anyone out there seen one and what did you think of it? I want a classy look not 'thug-a-fied'. Should I be original and get 20% bronze or does it look so ugly that's why nobody has it? Any opinions and pics would be very helpful. Also, and experience with 3M or Llumar, one better than the other? Thanks so much.
i have the same car, and i was going to go w/ bronze, and the guy at my tint shop actually put one on the front and then put a smoke tint on the rear so i could see the difference...i liked them both, but the smoke looked better IMO. i went w/ 20% all around, and it is definitely not "thugified". i don't have any pics, but it looks great, and i've had a lot of compliments on it.
I don't have the same color car, but I went with 20% all around. "thugified" ? Is that too dark ? What exactly is bronze ? The windshield is pretty big on the car, so it lets a lot of light in. I was on the fence of 20 or 35% before I had it done cuz I was scared it would look too dark. Happy with my decision. see pics
i have a WDP as well, but i went with the mirror. looks great imo. got 35% all around w/ 16% reflectivity so the mirror is subtle. i know 35% isn't much, but with that slight mirror you can't see in and the reflectivity i have is legal at least in VA.
Thanks for all the replies. Pics look nice. No bronze ones yet though. I think I will ask for a sample of each so I can compare. I would be happy with either one I'm sure. The trim around the windows is black, the tint would transition into that nicely, but the whole top half of my ride would be black over white then. Bronze I think is 'classy' with the tan interior, but I'm afraid it will look 'golden' from the outside. 35% on all sides and dark as you want on the back is what is legal here is Missouri. The shop said they go 20% as rule with no problems from the police. What about the visor on the front. Do it, don't do it? Thanks, got to get back to fixing more blaster virus.

just so you know, the bronze sample window that my shop did, actually did look kind of golden, but that could have been the time of day and angle of the sun. i didn't get the visor done, but i can definitely say that the 20% will look really good...it's dark enough to not see in at night, and just looks good during the day. plus, remember since you have a white car, no matter what percentage you get, the tint is going to look darker just b/c of the contrast.
I have a WDP and it was tinted with LLUMAR Charcoal at 31% all around. I find 20% is too dark and dangerous at night for my tastes. BTW, the LLUMAR charcoal is about the same color as the factory tint on the sunroof.
do what satisfies you, because at the end that is all that matters. But if you are set on impressing people, i can tell you that many people mwill think that bronze is cheesy and not classy
"people will think that bronze is cheesy", thanks bigman, that's the kind of honesty I'm looking for. I can accept that so long as people don't confuse different for cheesy. I will ultimately have to see them side by side on the glass to make my final choice. I'm not really looking to impress people, I don't care what they think, but like with any mod if you can call this a mod, you want to do it right the first time.
