Can't decide

I am driving a 00 TL, and itching for something spicier. I have seen the preview of G35 coupe and love the outside look. I also like the VTEC fame, value and Honda handling. However, the TLS doesn't have a 6-speed which I really want. Anyone knows if the TLs will follow the Cls footstep??

I like the zero front and rear lift (with aero package) of the G35, also the contour shape resemble the Z350. Plus the Skyline-like suspension, but the interior design is a little scary to me. Isn't the current TL body will be re-designed soon? I mean new model.

Hopefully the TL would follow the CL footstep, it would be stupid for Honda not to.

The G35 is a great car. It is on top of the TL when it comes to handling and braking. The looks is what is keeping me from loving this car. It is true that the coupe looks a lot better, but still not my prefer style. I'm a big fan of the skyline GTR34 and I know nissan could have done better on the G35 when it comes to styling. IMO I like the TL interior better.

I think is Renault's fault after they gained control over Nissan, they killed the Skyline GTR (BNR34). Then replace the Skyline (ER34) with the strange looking XVL concept. I really hope Nissan can build a version of GTR that can be imported here under the Nissan badge.

How spicier do you want?

M3, S4? I think S4 is a good all year round car, but not a good SPORTS car...

M3? after all those blew engines, I think you do get what you paid for... Get the Boxster S or Porsche instead for performance & fun

G35, OMG not even the coupe for me...

IS300 is fun to drive, but I just don't like some of details in that car.

350Z should be hell of a crazy car, but I like the RX-8 more cuz it's a decent 4 seater...

If you want something spicy, you should get something RWD/AWD. The TL's handling is pretty good for a big FWD car. I doubt that you will be willing to downgrade to an RSX-S or Civic Si...

That doesn't leave you much options after all...

G35, IS300 offers similar performance

then there's

Boxster S, stock S4, S2000, RX-8, Z350 run low 14s

Then

chipped S4, E46 M3, 911... 13s

You can and should try the WRX, lots potentials, but I can't live with the interior... Wait for the Evo 7, it's coming to the States and Canada. for about 28-32k

You get an M3 killer, it doesn't have leather seat, but I am sure you will be happy with the Recaro. It's got HID, too...

Kevin,

you and I are kinda in the same spot.. I'm getting kinda bored of the TL as well.. maybe it's time for some mods..

I'm guessing your wife doesn't know your plans yet eh?? :P

the 350Z is gonna be a sweet car

I'm waiting to see what the 2004 TL will be like.. hopefully things will be redesigned for a little more fun..

KJ32, if you're looking for something "real spicy" Get the WRX. My neighbor told me I could drive it down the street so I decided to take advantage of the situation and just push the pedal all the way down. OMG!!!!!! AWD is da' sh*t!!!! It spun out for a split second and vooosssshhhh....I was off. I got up to 3rd gear before I had to stop.

P.S. He got it in stick, and it will tear-up any car it comes upon.

GET A WRX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I just want something around 260-300hp, preferably N/A car, plus good handling. My wife thinks the TL's tail is too boring, even the TL-S. She knows my plan, I even show her the G35 coupe on line. We will test drive the coupe when it's out. Of course, as a working class, price is a matter. M3 and S4 are out of my league when I want to buy a house. Hope there will be breakthrough for the 2004 TL model.

kode16:

I have been in a big-a$$ed WRX. I mean exhausted. It does have the potential, however, the owner has so many complaints about the car, not performance, but build quality and dealer service. I don't think I will go for the WRX. Good suggestion though

i truly mean it when i say this... TL is the pretty much the BEST car you can get for the price... luxurious and comfortable interior, outstanding performance, great looks... too bad you think it's boring now... not interested in any used cars? old M3s are at reasonable prices these days and they are still under 6 when it comes to 0-60.... or maybe a used supra?

I know what you mean!!!

I looked around unless you are willing to pay like 40k + for a brand new car... it's hard to get something that REALLY makes a difference...

@ the same time if you already have a 2000 TL. It's not worth it to downgrade to the RSX-S just for that little bit of performance.

But seirously, for myself, I am either gonna mod my 2000TL, or get the EVOVII when it comes here...
