Canadian Navigation

So how many canadian owners have the Acura navigation in there TL? I was thinking if I get my mechanic cousin who lives in the states to frequent the wrecks a Navigation unit from a TL might show up, what do you guys think? Would it work If i replaced it on my canadian nonnavi TL?

Juat a thought.....

I know in Saskatchewan it doesn't work. It will show you the major roads but once you get into the residential areas, there is nothing there. It might work in larger centers such as Vancouver, Calgary, or Toronto........ All I know is it doesnt work here so I didn't get the option when I purchased mine.

There is no navi option for Canadian TLs, no matter what year/model. In theory you can mod your car with another US TL w/ navi. But you'll need a lot of parts and major rewiring of your car. Not worth it IMO. Better off just to wait for them to offer it here from dealer

Aftermarket may have better coverage in Canada, but nothing aftermarket can touch the factory system.

What's so great about the factory system?

The looks? Features? Integration with the car?

I'm sure that Acura doesn't make it so I'd bet that you could probably buy the same thing aftermarket.

Sure, you can buy aftermarket. The system is made by Alpine.

With the factory system, you get the clean, well integrated appearance.

As for functionality, the next gen system in my wife's 03 Accord EX-V6 is immeasurably better than the system in my 03-TLS which is far and away better than ones offered by other manufacturers.

What are you talking about? There is not NAVI option for the Canadian TL. Even with a US NAVI TL, you don't see any roads in Canada.
