As far as I know, it will be kind of hard to install a shift light for a distributorless car.

Under the hood is a blue wire, that is the negative signal from the coil packs......

But why would you want a shift light at 4k?

You can use the tach wire, and pick it up anywhere on the harness. I've done this for a digital tach in my accord, and am in the midst of putting in a digital tach/speedo for the TL.

Should be able to make one pretty easily. You need a few IC's (LM2917 for freq-volt, and LM311 for comparator)connected to an LED. You can adjust the switching point to any RPM you like.

Cool

I had an autometer shift light, and 5" monster tach in my old accord. It has settings for 4,6,and 8 cylinder engines. Not sure on hooking it up on a distributorless car though.
It does look cool, I had the plug in chips from 6000rpm's to 7000rpm's. mine was set at 6200.
