Can TLS CD Player Play MP3 format?

Hi Guys,

Is the CD player in the TLS MP3 compatible? For example, I have created MP3 CDs on my computers' CD burner. Will these play in the Acura CD player? I have not been able to make them play in the CD player of the Toyota Camry that I presently own.

Thanks,

Vasant.

No. Those are just plain CD players.

The Acura CD player is not an MP3 player. What this means is that raw .MP3 files that have not been converted to .CDA format will not play.

However, if you mean .MP3 files that have been converted to .CDA format and burned onto a CD-R using software like Adaptec CD-Creator, Nero or similar, yes they will work. They must be CD-R's, CD-RW's will not work. Also, paper labels are not recommended. They can peel off with the heat and jam the unit.

Good info rockinTLS. I burn most of my CD's and use Fellowes Labels on them. They have not malfunctioned in the CD player. FYI

Be careful, especially in the Florida heat. I write directly on the CD. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

Actually I discovered the heat isn't so much the problem as the "thickness" of the CD once the label is applied. The motor on the stock head unit is so weak it can barely grunt out a regular CD. When the label is on there it will really bog down and more often than not it won't spit it out.

yes.. is it at all possible to put headers on the head unit motor? I feel that improved air flow will result in higher track speeds...
