Can SRT4 spank TL-S?
Can SRT4 spank TL-S?
yah but it has that ugly as all hell dodge logo on it.
Yes, it may even beat the G35/GS 400/a buncha other cars. But it is very tricky getting a perfect launch on a light FWD car with that much power. We'll see. Automakers of late seem to make much faster times in magazines than the street.
To answer the question yes... if the numbers on it are right... it will beat the TL-S/CL-S by almost a full second in the quarter... stock for stock of course....
Oh and BTW... it's not a Neon.. it's the Dodge SRT-4. No more Neon in the name. And by 2004 or 2005, it will also shed it's Neon-like style....

Yes, but don't understand why they are making the Neon faster than all their 03 line up
Two words: Pocket Rocket
They are going after the younger "wannabes" market segment.
(Who the heck would buy a stock Neon anyway? Unless you were on a limited income, what reason would there be to buy an underpowered rattletrap.)
I think they are hoping to take a chunk out of Civic buyers that mod their cars.

Very well put."
Somehow, I don't think Dodge is going after the same market segment as the TL/TLS. Different type of car altogether. It's meant to be somewhat purpose built to be a sporty little compact like mentioned before. Looking to go after the civic modding crowd. It's not quite up to snuff with the WRX,EVO 8 because of the FWD layout, but not a bad and much cheaper alternative. I give Dodge some credit for building and enthusiasts car that people can afford.

Did you get the TL-s because of pure performance? I know I didn't.
I can always tell people that I can drive 5 people with the A/C on full blast, listen to my 6-disc changer, look classy, sound quiet and still drive very effortlessly!

Well you guys ragging on the Neon are comparing Apples to Oranges. $20,000 for a SRT-4 ---- $32,000 for a TLS....hmm $12,000 difference and not even in the same car segment. Both vehicles target completely different groups of people. I've owned a 99 Neon R/T for over four years now...and I will be the first to say that i've had a lot of lil' problems with it and that it at times left a bit to be desired but for the $12k I paid for it new I couldn't beat the performance and fun factor for the money. Now a Mustang GT beater econo-box for 20 g's. I'd buy one for the sheer joy of smoking stock Mustangs and hanging with Camaro's. How pissed would you be if you got smoked by a measely Neon. In any respect I think you guys should give the car the credit it is due.
