Can the factory Nav be installed?

I was wondering if the factory navigation system can be installed on 1999-2003 TL. It is hard to find one with Nav. with my limited budget.

it can be installed. i know snowman81 has done this and some other members too.

here is DIY http://www.nfauto.co.uk/images/dec_2...ter_socket.jpg

however it maybe easier to buy an aftermarket one and replace your cd changer

good luck, HTH

For the 400$ for a junkyard nav unit plus $200 for the newest software maps- I would just get a Garmin or Magellan portable and spend $300-400 and be done with it

And none would look as clean in the dash as the factory.

Yes a few have done the conversion.

To go back to the most obvious solution, this person wants to BUY a 99-01 TL with Nav

So look online, craigslist and others for someone selling what you want
Place a car wanted ad on CL! Place a car wanted ad here in acurazine!
Check the local acura independant repair shop, one of their customers may have expressed interest in selling their car

My 01 has the factory nav- which I really like , AND I also carry my handheld - they have different info and sometimes different routes!

Look around your neighborhood- chance are you will find the car you want for sale from a private party and stay within your budget. The best deals are often parked on the street or edge of a parking lot. Slow down, look around, your new car will be found.

Remember to get the vin number of any car you look at and call Acura to see its transmission warranty status and anything they may know about it- it Acura has done any warranty work- they know it!
Carfax knows some things- but not always what you really need to know

Good luck- welcome to the world of Acura nuts

Thanks, I look up on craigslist, autotrader, I found one, but the millage was too high. So, I am afraid of problems coming into the cars, mainly for the AT transmission..

SO, I am still looking for it and want to find the best deal out there...

dre
Look in the phone book for an acura repair shop and go see if they know of one for sale

I found my TL on CL, after it had been parked on a street I drove down nearly every day and didn't see it parked with a for sale sign on it!

How much price differance are you finding on the nav vs non nav cars?

If you don't even know how to find something on Ebay, I don't think you're technically savvy enough to install a navigation system in your car. Good luck with that.
