Talking Can this CL turbo fit in a TL? PICS!

i was at a toys for tots car show and i ran across this CL, unfortunately the actual owner wasnt there to answer m questions about the turbo. but i took pics with my cellphone to see if you guys noticed anything special about this setup. do you think this would be possible for a 2g TL? oh yea, the guy that was there said it was the second engine put in because the first one was blown.

If I'm not mistaken, the CL owner could be on this board, search the CL section..

The turbo will fit. They are the same car. The problem is going to be in the intake height. Also that looks like a manual and the piping may not fit past the auto trans??

IMHO, get a six speed swap with a type S motor, then drop in a turbo or supercharger, why? Because with the 6 speed you will have maximum power, more HP, and mods will respond much better..

Thats the route I'm taking..

i feel you guys, but i read in previous post that the issue with a TL turbo is the downpipe?? and an engine swap+a SC/TB will be more expensively wasteful than feasible for most. but FL3.2TL if you are willing to make a completly detailed price list and parts list, i may consider it. i have about 4k saved up

oh yea, car is for sale for 14k

of every single needed part for a swap and a turbo/supercharger swap. with prices. i checked yours out and i felt a bit overwhelemed. but thats only natural seeing as i have no idea where to start. i will most likely have my brother in law do it for me.

that is NOPIGUY, it's a custom kit. It's an automatic too. It will fit but it's not a kit you can just buy, it's completely custom made.

Probably not. And being custom isnt something you really post a bunch of instructions and part numbers. Half the work is in the custom made piping.

Honestly there is nothing wrong with Ford, it just depends on cosumer taste. Dad has a Ford E150 ( Work van ) for his business, been there for 8- 10 years, about 110K, and no problem whatsoever. Brother owned a Mustang GT and a FORD Harley, no problem. Ford is nice, but depending on how u drive it, could be the different between Ford and other brands..

probably 5-7k, and just hope your tranny doesn't take a dump because thats more $$ to shell out since the dealer wouldn't cover that with a turbo.

Like I put in the CL thread you started...

Ya 14k is a great deal for NOPIGUY's car, I asked about turbo kit part out price. Also, there is ThinJim's kit available, as well as this -

https://acurazine.com/forums/member-cars-sale-49/fs-2001-supercharged-cl-s-sundance-gold-orange-county-calif-373284/

3.5 swap with S/C, IC, custom injectors, etc...$5000 maybe less

The setup above and NOPIGUY's setups are both AT, ThinJim's is MT. Even with HBP you might be looking around 375-400whp for the linked setup as opposed to 450 with ThinJim's. Haven't heard numbers from NOPIGUY, but I would guess 350-400, I think it is running fairly low boost.

Oh and as far as Ford goes, I have a CLs with over 100k running strong, while my brother has a Ford Explorer Sportrac over 100k that just had $2,000 worth of work and is still barely running...Only Ford I trust are Ford trucks, preferably turbo-diesel!

EDIT: Timbo you work for Ford? I never knew...TRAITOR!
