Camber Kits

Ok, so I got H&R sports (50103) for my 00TL, and I just had my alignment done. -1.5R, -1.6L. Crap. So I'm looking at camber kits and I come across these:

http://www.seffects.com/parts/EIB581260K.htm

Pretty damn cheap, what's wrong with em? What is my best bet for a camber kit? And finally, does someone have a DIY for them? Thanks,

Yeah the picture is generic, every kit they list uses that pic. I just don't understand the HUGE price differences..anyone? I know a lot of you have dropped more than H&R Sports..

Unless you have camber problems..I wouldn't waste your money just yet on camber kits. Camber kits push the upper portion of your tires out..so that your tires wear even. But by putting on a camber kit when you don't have camber issues will cause you to have camber issues.

Save your money and buy some shocks.

Not true. To say an aftermarket camber kit cannot be adjusted to stock camber & toe settings is incorrect. All good, reputable camber kits are fully adjustable. But I do agree with you that if a car doesn't have camber problems (ie: stock suspension), then there really is no need to add a camber kit (ie: it defeats the purpose of getting a camber kit).

But with these numbers (quote) -1.5R, -1.6 you do need camber adjustment. I have a smiliar issue, 00TL with H&R Sport springs and the machine read -.06F (which is not that bad) and -1.7R This Eibach kit looks as an interesting option specially compared to the other kits which are much more expensive

I have not seen the Eibach camber kit or its specs, so I can't comment on whether it's a good fit for you. All good camber kits correct both camber and toe. I have heard that some camber kits out there only does camber (and hence a cheaper price). I don't know if this is true or not, so perhaps someone can chime in and confirm that. But your choice of camber kit should be comparing the functionality of brand "X" to SPC or Ingalls brand. Does brand "X" do the same kind of camber/toe adjustments that the more expensive SPC and Ingalls kits do? Be careful and do your research before you buy. Good luck!

when the car is standing, the camber looks fine.

however, when moving over bumps, you can see the wheels camber in.
so am i correct, in thinking, that i am at the upper end of the suspension
ability to maintain the camber?.

I'm on stock wheels, and running Falken Ziex 512 tires with same tire size as the stock Michelins.

What is your suspension setup? How much did you lower your car? Wheel and tire size? Assuming you lowered your car, even when the car is standing still, you can still see if you have a camber problem. Just stand away from your car like 15-20 feet away, squat down or kneel down and look at the tires from the back or the front of your car. If you lowered your car, the rear wheels will look like this: / \ Camber in the front tires is less obvious than the rears.

I don't think the problem you are describing has anything to do with the suspension's abilitiy to maintain camber. If the wheels camber in, you have a camber problem (ie: you either have a camber problem or you don't).

But to be on the safe side, I recommend you have a mechanic to check your suspension, coz what you are describing doesn't sound right to me.

That sucks I have the sport springs as well and after my alignment all my camber zeroed out, but I had a slight amount of toe left, but not enough to worry about.

Unlemming. Are you able to return your HR springs part# 50103's? You have a 2000TL ,the springs you should have gotten are 51858-55 for HR OE springs, and/or 51858 for HR Sport springs. The 50103's are for 2002 an 2003 models not 2000TL. That is why maybe you have camber issues, because you have the springs that was not meant for your model year. What you can also consider is return the 50103's and get Comptech Springs
